8 pellet Flitecontrol

Sorry never took a pic. Decided that was way to tight of a pattern for me as I’d probably miss the coyote. Decided to use 3” #4 buck with a F choke as I was getting a 30” pattern at 35 yards
 
Would the Vang Comp setup help with this project?
I'm really not sure.

Vang Comp ports the barrel for recoil mitigation (shotguns don't bother me...rather, 2.75" shotgun loads don't bother me. ;) ) They thread barrels for choke tubes, and the reverse cut the forcing cone of the chamber.

My understanding is that flight control works very well without a choke or Cylinder Bore, said another way. So, the only real benefit would be the forcing cone extension and I'm just not convinced there is going to be return on that investment?

If a shotgun is capable of 4-6" patterns at 25 meters, I want that gun! I'm only consoled that I can plunk in a slug and get a 1" pattern at 25 metres.

As Faustus insinuates, I'll take them out again at 7 or 10 yards and make some fist sized holes...but the bloody flyer is a thing! 8 pellet flitecontrol, no longer available, is what is needed.
 
Painkillers, why are flyers an issue? What are you intending to use this ammo for?

If it is home defense .... lets be realistic ..... what is the longest distance in your home that you have a clear sight to shoot?

10 meters? 15 meters? 20 meters?

My suggestion ..... pattern your guns at that distance ..... and I am pretty sure the pattern is tight enough .... even with "flyers" .... if there are any.

p.s.: I don't see flyers in your patterns of the Flightcontrol ammo ..... I just see patterns. But if I wanted or needed to find flyers .... I am sure I could point them out.

p.s.s: Nobody has defined what a flyer is .... and how you would measure it .... I mean scientifically you would measure the distance of all impact holes .... calculate an average .... determine the standard deviation ..... and determine threshold of what a flyer would be ... and determine the impacts that deviate from that threshold.

I wish we had that 8 pellet load available for testing here in Canada ..... because statistically I am convinced that it would not perform differently than the 9 pellet loads. But that is just my opinion ..... Unfortunately we have no way of testing this without that ammo being available ..... :(

No, not home defence. My problem is, those rounds are unaccounted for. I assume they missed the target by inches or fractions of an inch...but I don't know. When I shoot something, I need to know where all pellets are going, not most of them.

Flyers are a thing. I'm convinced of it, and cannot be swayed. I've seen it. It's a thing.
 
Well, you could open the crimp of a couple of those shells ..... remove a pellet .... substitute with buffer .... re-crimp the shell .... and then test the pattern.

According to you this should improve the patterns significantly, and you should see the difference on the patterning board.

Now I don't believe so. Vang Comp advertises a 10-12" spread at 25 yards (23 metres), which is arguably what I'm getting. I say arguably because some flyers were outside 4" left or right, or 5.5" up or down (as my poa is center of an 8x11" sheet).

I was expecting fist sized with a flyer with the 9 pellet. What I got was kinda all over the place, but within 8x11...with some flyers.

I'd need to restack all the pellets, not just remove one, and if I'm going to do that, I'd just reload my own hulls. Going back to my original question, I was looking for a source to buy 8 pellet shells, not reloading my own.
