Nova Scotian should allow its residents to hunt Sundays.

Hunting is a timeless tradition for many. With the rising cost of living and the recent tariffs imposed by the US, combined with many people working Monday to Friday it’s never been a better time for Nova Scotia to follow suit to other provinces and allow its resident to hunt Sundays.

You're not "allowed" to hunt on Sundays? Why? Some holdover from Christian religious principles? Anti-hunting people wanting to go into the woods during hunting season?
I’m not sure the reason. The first 2 Sundays following October 25th (the start of deer general season) you are allowed to hunt. Apparently that was supposed to be a “test” of whether or not Sunday hunts would be successful. That was 5 years ago now. It’s time were allowed to hunt Sundays for every season (September 1st- February 28th). Most people work Monday to Friday only allowing them one good day of hunting per week.

Probably religious reason. Same as why my NSLC is closed on Sundays. Or why our range cannot start shooting till after 12 pm on Sundays. Probably the same bunch that didn't want Sunday shopping. NS is ran by a bunch of don't want to change old folks, stuck in their ways.

Chruch has too much power, and I bet majority could care less. Why religion shouldn't have ANY power in anything political.

All NSLC stores in my area are open Sundays, as well as many shops, and the provincial rifle ranges allow for Sunday bookings. Another reason we should allow Sunday hunts. I wouldn’t mind if we were allowed to hunt after 12pm Sundays that would be better than no Sunday hunts at all in my opinion.

Middleton is full of many many many old stuck in their ways.

Everything closes at like 5 on weekdays, auto parts store close like 1 pm Saturday.

my guess is it would mean the limited game wardens they have would have to work sundays?
Potentially. However NS government about 5 years ago allowed hunting on the first 2 Sundays following October 25th which is the opening of the general deer season as a “test” to see how Sunday hunts would go. Nothing has changed since.

If you keep electing governments that want to control every part of your life....don't be surprised when they do.
Even Conservatives here are nothing but liberals in blue suits. Even the preimer calls him a red tory.

Im in the only conservative riding in NS and it still full of Liberals.

Should let pei residents deer hunt in ns without a guide too.
I like how people in the states can hunt in other states but canadian provinces try to put up barriers where ever they can to other canadians

Now that the Christian religion is no longer the predominant religion in many communities maybe it is time to do away with such regulations as they no longer represent the ideology of the population

Ah yes , they still do that ? lived in N.S. various times 70's-80's-90's (military) . Need to fix you car on the weekend ? better get to the parts store by lunch time ! Blessed in Alberta open till 9pm on saturday , sunday till 5pm.

In Sask I was always led to believe it was to give the animals/prey a day of grace. No idea if that's true or not, but I found that logic acceptable. I'm completely against letting hunters from other provinces hunt here without paying double at the least, and/or even better requiring a local (not a guide) to accompany. Guides can be shysters. If one province can't maintain their wildlife due to whatever (usually too many people), I sure don't want them coming and doing the same to mine.
