Just broke my Frankfurt Arsenal F1 Press trying to FL resize and Shoulder Bump 7.62 Mil Brass. Any recommendations on a stronger press?

Thanks!

Just going to add my vote(s) for RCBS Rock Chucker or Redding Ultramag.

I have a progressive for most stuff, but I also have a big ol' RCBS Rock Chucker for reforming brass, swagging bullets, decapping crimped brass and all the brute force stuff.

I always liked the RC. Had mine stolen during a move a few years ago. Was going to get another but a Herters showed up. Old out of production but I like it. I have the Lee which I find is a very sturdy press. Two currently on my table are a Herters and Lyman T mag. My other presses I have bolted to planks which I can bolt to my table.

+1 on an RCBS rock checker
I broke a Lee single stage and never looked back when I bought an RCBS.

I few things to consider which will make resizing brass easier:

I deprime the brass using a universal deprimer before I resize.

Annealed brass is easier to resize

I lube the inside of the necks.
10-4 on all those points fer sure. (y) I started with an RCBS junior press back in '70 which served me well until '91 when me sweetie got me a
Rock Chucker fer Xmas. Never an issue with reliable service performance fer me on either of 'em all these yrs.

I would venture that there was a casting flaw that caused that break. I'd call FA and send pics. They might come good for another.

You could sell that to help with the next one.

What did you break on your press, and why did it break???

I'm not saying it didn't happen, but I've seen every other press mentioned as a replacement either sworn at or loved, depending on who's using it.

All presses can have casting flaws.

I had to get the bracket that holds the end of the throw arm on my RCBS Rock Chucker replaced a few weeks after setting it up. The bracket broke across the thin sides of the threaded hole, holding the handle.

I can't see anything breaking on that press under normal conditions and proper operating procedures.

I'm assuming you did your part and properly cleaned/lubed the cases before proceeding?

Pics are a pain to download, so a bit of a description would help us understand why you need or want a different press.

Frankford Arsenal, which morphed from Bonanza, which has CH before that, have always made excellent and precise reloading tools.

You won't get anything better IMHO, maybe the same, but not better or likely stronger.

Resizing 7.62x51, once fired cases or even cases fired and reloaded 3-4 times would not be an issue in such a press under "normal" conditions.

Please elaborate, so we can help you not to have the same issue again.

Green, Red, Orange or Lime Green, they will all work well.
Not familiar with the FA you have that is now broken and bearhunter has pointed out some things to help us sleuths try and offer another option.
They all have great strengths and few shortfalls.
The R/C has been good to several of the reloaders I know and that was because they had the option to buy and short delivery time.
This was long before AMAZON so delivery times are now measured in a day or two instead of right now.
Warranty is very competitive amongst the colours mentioned.
Tight Groups,
Rob
