The TAVOR

Some recent photos from IWI:

CanAm, I'll take one of those sweet C.T.A.R. 21-length barrel guns with the ITL unit (the one GT and robstar ordered). Are you importing to fulfill only pre-existing orders?

I see the bottom Tavor has a bayonet lug. Funny CanAM told me this was not available???? What gives???

What's not to understand? He's obviously been told by the manufacturer that the particular model in question isn't going to be available. Maybe the bayonet lug isn't something that IWI is willing to put on rifles exported for sporting use.

Folks need to figure out that just because something exists, they want it, and that it's legal in Canada, doesn't necessarily mean that it's something we can reasonably get our hands on. There are a pile of possible reasons. Manufacturers may decide to limit sales or production of certain items. They may have contractual obligations that preclude certain things at a given point in time. Various national governments may choose to restrict the export of certain items. There may not be enough demand to make the importation of certain specific items feasible (ne economy of scale).

No, no, that's rational. CanAM is actually involved in a complicit Jewish plot to overthrow Panama. The bayonet lugs are integral to this villainous plan.

GOOD NEWS TIME: IWI has informed me our guns are ready to ship. They are waiting on the export papers, then we will have them ASAP.

BAD news is those few who have ordered special sights or barrels MAY not get them on this batch. I am waiting on the final word from IWI. We may have them put them in the order, and we will install them in Canada. I will let you know.

This is a VERY large order of guns, and I don't want to delay the bulk of the order for 5 or 6 special orders. We may also be able to fly the specials in separately. Unfortunately IWI's communications leave a great deal to be desired.

I will be away at a merchant of death conference until April 9, but Mark at the office can field your calls. I will also have email.

BTW that photo is the first time I have seen the bayo lug. I will ask for them next time if folks want them. IWI is a small company and makes a lot of changes and demo guns for different reasons.

YEAH ! :dancingbanana:

Is some scope rails & bipod adapter in spare to add to the order or are they due to a next shipment ?

Is a bayonet lug going to affect accuracy by affesting barrel harmonics?
Just a thought, that was one of the reasons that the L85 has its weird in the grip bayonet!

I'm one of the 6 with a special order on. I can wait a little bit, would be outstanding if I could get it before my Tactical Responce course in June.

As long you don't mess up my order, I'll still smile. This is the one I'm after.

I've ordered a standard Tavor, and asked to also get the optics rail. Hopefully if there's an issue with the rail, the "stock" version will arrive on time so that I can enjoy it until the rest of my goodies get here.

Well the standard is the rifle version (non-restricted barrel length) with the mepro-21 sight.

I have the armorer's manual that was posted some time ago around here, installing the rail doesn't seem hard at all. But one thing that i'd like to know is about the barrel wrench; can anything be used in its place? (we won't get any with the rifle?) Flat blade screwdriver ? Help me CanAm :runaway:

I'd rather not read 85 pages so sorry if this has been covered (I imagine it has) can you order one with no sight, ie just a pic rail? If so how much?
cheers

Yes. It's $300 extra for the rail and you get a free stock sight with it.
