Hornady One Shot

I only used it on pistol brass. I spray it in a large Ziploc freezer bag, dump in the brass, seal it up and shake the h3ll out of it for a bit. Worked ok and I didn't find it messy doing it this way.

After running ‘low’ on Hornady One Shot last year I scoured Canada and couldn’t find even one can on anyone’s shelf.
Called Hornady direct for an answer and finally found out why it isn’t being shipped up into Canada. You won’t believe this but it’s true…can’t import into Canada because it doesn’t have any instructions in FRENCH on the can!! Sooo…while on vacation visiting a friend in Florida I ordered a dozen cans from Scheels and had my friend throw it in their truck when returning to Ontario in the spring. Love that stuff, should last me a few months, lol.
BUT I’ll grab a can of that specialty WD-40 and play with it. Backup is always good.
This has been an issue for many years.
The Bi-lingual requirements of doing business in Canada.
G-96 was running into the issue about 15 years ago and a local wharehouse printed up the French Canadian translation of ingredients and directions of use.
The uproar waned and now we have G-96 readily available.
As for Hornady and their reasons....
I still use RCBS lube and yes sometimes I get dents in my brass, but I aint building loads to shoot the sphincter out of gnats at 100m.

Re the WD40 Dry Lube: Has anyone had any issues of powder/primer corruption from it?
No problems in the rounds I have loaded so far, but as I stated earlier, I precoat the inside of a Ziploc bag with the spray, then dump in the brass and shake the bag, so there really shouldn't be any of the lube getting inside the cases.

Another convert to the WD Dry Lube. Was down to my last can of One Shot, bought a can of WD from my local auto parts store… seems to work the same as One Shot. Cost was $18.

Im gonna dissent on the OneShot.
It stinks and cost too much.
Once I stumbled upon the recipe for home brew case lube I stopped using the aersol crap that is OneShot.
Liquid lanolin and 99% isopropyl at 1:12 ratio is the best darn lube I've ever used.

Ok, so the wd40 dry lube works fine, but you definitely have to clean the cases after. Even with a cloth wipe after, the cases end up slightly sticky after a week or two waiting to be loaded. Viable alternative though. - dan
After decapping and sizing, I run my brass through an ultrasonic cleaner. No issues for me and clean primer pockets.

I only use the WD40 for pistol cases and so far it's working well. I put the brass in a plastic tray the sized of a 24 beer flat and hose them down, just like I did with One Shot. It's actually kind of nice to be able to buy case lube at NAPA or CT rather than have to go to a gun store or order it.

If it isn't affected by the aerosol laws, easy enough for Korth to get labels made. Not sure if it still applies, at least here in AB, you couldn't have it on display w/o the dual labelling on it, but, could still sell it, just had to keep it out of sight. We had a bunch of stuff on a program out of our OEM somebody complained. Then I saw all this stuff in Cdn Tire, as they put their own labels on, or were buying enough for the vendor to do it for them. Meh. That was back around the time WHMIS came in too.

Using carbide dies I've never found the need to lube pistol cases? Does the WD40 degrade powder if not cleaned entirely?

Lube makes things go easier if you are doing higher volume. I don’t think it would degrade powder but I haven’t done any scientific tests either

I have a can of One Shot that I barely used. Probably sprayed five cases with it. Never liked it. I do like the One Shot paste. It’s great.
