School me on SKS’s

Where did you get those? I don’t have any issues with the stripper clips, I load 10 rounds, push 5 in and then flip the clip over for next 5. Stripper clips are a great way to store the ammo in an ammo can. I sit and watch TV and load stripper clips so I’m ready for the next shooting opportunity.

Unless you have a ###xload of $$, those will get 'old' after you have to stop and reload 'em. -Instead You can just load your rifle faster than reloading those, then loading your rifle. Clips are more convenient as knepart said.

When I had SKS’s, I would buy Czech surplus, came loaded on stripper clips. Practise a bit with strippers and you will quickly forget about these gizmos. Strippers clips are easier to load and work when you have the technique mastered.

Don’t doubt that stripper clip usage gets better with practice but honestly this device is beyond easy and no learning / practice curve .I really don’t have a place in the game yet as I’m as green as grass in the SKS game .
I will practice with the Stripper Clips as well .
I respect your views SKS Gurus .

L - I got a FT last summer and found the T-spring was just fine, ca 3-4# (I didn't measure it). I'd suggest you 1) Try firing it 'as is', you may be surprised. 2) 'Polish' the 'faces' of the sear And the channels it runs in, then lube with PTFE grease ( Cantire - Permatex Synthetic in the Automotive section, ca $16). I don't think the MCarbo spring kit will get yours any lighter, but the PTFE may be all you need.
