I was about to go that route for the forend but the color doesn't match the retrograde stock so I was like meh and let someone do the work and call it a day. It's just that thing is POS right out of the box and was very disappointed even though it was an easy fixed.

Mossberg 590A1's seem to be hit or miss the last few years, which is odd as it's supposed to be near the top of their line. I've heard no complaints from anyone with a Maverick 88.

Like you, I have the 20" 590A1 Retrograde (or was it 18" I don't recall), and it's a gawd damned tank. Very robust, absolutely reliable. The sight post is properly affixed to the barrel, the ghost ring is amazing. To hear that your 590A1 that you put a 14" barrel on was a POS out of the box saddens me. Did you buy it second hand by chance? What'd you do with the long barrel that came with it?

It's a 590a1 class 3, it comes with that barrel

It's 590a1 class 3 that come with 14 inch barrel. My full size retrograde works perfectly out of the box and love it, that's why I bought another 59A1. I'm always a 870 P kinda guy anyway.

Honestly, those are probably the last Mossberg that I ever own, there are a lots of lemon lately and I got two lemons out of three I own.

New Remington is bad but they never failed to me out of the box, Lol.
