RF224 11.7” Review?

wow.. I have a basic rifle in now for almost couple months.. I emailed them as well after 4/5 weeks, to see whats up, & nothing, not a reply. Still, not reply/update still.
I also commentted how they pull allot of stock then have these fantasical sales.. 14% off + free ship etc. but, when you look for products, they are gone. Not the ones they list, just other (popular) product is gone off their site, until MAGICALLY, the sale is over lol.. what chumps. Aren't they the ones people used to say that were 'co-operating' early on too? & to advoid? Just like my comments, Im sure they scrubbed those too. ( and these ones?!?) Maybe this is why my rifle is taking so long lmao. What a p o s company.

If a rifle is still here then we are waiting for parts to arrive or a replacement rifle to come in. Usually Adlers have pretty quick turn around time unless we are waiting for something. As to emails, we have someone replying to emails full time, send me your email address and I will check on it and see what is going on. As to stock coming off, we've bee pretty open we often turn off one of the warehouses when we get bogged down with orders. An average sale generates 2-3000 orders sometimes and if I think we are starting to get back logged then I shut one of the warehouses off. The sale this weekend isn't as bad so all three warehouses are all online for it.

After my first outing a week ago I learned like others, it will require work to cycle & shoot properly. I am now headfirst into the rabbit hole. These pics are my bolt 95% complete. It’s radiused as well. New VQ Extractor & SBI spring & plunger will be here this week along with the VQ firing pin. I’ll still have to polish my Ruger Hammer & Sear plus a couple other parts. I as well will be lightly sanding the chamber down to clean it up. Once all that is complete I’ll be working on the magazines.

Well I got it done…

Bolt is all polished, the end was shaved down, radiused, new VQ firing pin (had to modify it plus the charge handle) VQ extractor with SBI plunger & spring, hammer, sear & disconnector, all polished, mag release flipped around, chamber lightly sanded with 1000grit..



All that’s left now is to tweak the magazines so they all fit & feed properly!



In the pics u will see the Adler extractor, Ruger, SBI, & VQ.



Firing Pins are VQ (modified where the charge handle sits as well as where the roll pin sits) Ruger, & Adler



One thing to note!!!…. If the roll pin is pushed in too far your charging handle spring will catch on it giving hang ups & the bolt may not go all the way forward! See the pics where I have it in all the way to clear the handle…

It's unfortunate and unacceptable how the gun looks like a premium item on the outside, but is a total turd on the inside (where it actually matters most!) and requires the owner to do a major overhaul right outta the box...

Eiii, what are the '%' of this happening? How many have been/ the #'s Sold? How many are F'd up, having this what Wheeler is having? ?
Would this ^ 'Wheeler' work on his own .22...not VOID- his warranty?
P.S. Im only about 500 rounds..but, with the oem or Butler Creek, I've had no issue.

I have no idea what the percentage breakdown on breakdown's and struggles are with the Adler, but there are enough stories good and bad to conclude that it's a bit of a c r a p shoot.

Hopefully Adler ups their game and makes some improvements going forward.

I appreciate it, one of the nice thing about 10/22's in my experience is they are not that fussy and tend to run.

I wanted a 1022, but in a metal reciever. Short barrel, pistol grip tac stock etc etc, the adler checked all the boxes for me, its a shame how bad of an experience its been.

Hopefully they figure it out and get a mark II out eventually..... they should consider a full on clone or at least as many parts compatibility as possible.

For me the upgraded extractor made all the difference. It gobbles up everything now.

Joco: Not much issue with running 597 magz? I have a bunch of 10/22 magz, & haven't had issue, only when trying run the 597.. people are saying the TM-22 is more reliable, bcuz those factory preparatory magz..but that's why personally, I don't like the TM.

I’ve only used the OEM mags so far. I got some 3D printed couplers off gun poo which work good. Sounds like both the 597 mags and adapters have caused others problems.

I'm never using warranty on this rifle! IF it won’t shoot properly when I get a chance to try it (hopefully next week end!) I’ll cartwheel it into a swamp! Hahahaha

For those of you with an ADLER RF 224 .22lr, after some experimentation you can get an ambidextrous thumb mag release by reversing the existing mag release lever which pushes the whole thing out towards the mag and in the open like an MP5. Why they did not do this from factory I don't know.

So is this still working? Do you pull it back now or do you still push forward to release the mag?
