Frustrating last few visits

I just assume at this point the suggestion to cut the mount in half was a sarcastic tongue-in-cheek quip being made to an arrogant douche of a customer.
Many years ago I worked at Wholesale Sports and got in trouble with a sarcastic quip aimed a the world's cheapest customer. Sometimes they just slip out. :ROFLMAO:

To quote Kevin Smith from Clerks, "This job would be great if it wasn't for all the customers"

Ive waited at the counter for so long with no help , i just leave , sucks as there is not too many stores left here

Maybe when they get really busy they need to institute a numbered ticket help feature like Lee Valley.

I think some of the backlog stems sometimes from a group or groups of rental shooters showing up to use the range and that overwhelms the staff availability.

Sadly no, I've never worked a retail job.
But I do find it funny some staffer at CSC is living rent free in your head.

I've done business with Byron twice, once face to face, and he's a genuine gentleman and about as far from your assumption as is possible. The last character trait he has is arrogance but nice try. I've also done business with CSC, online and in person, 2-3×, and they were ok. Nothing more nothing less. Staff were ok but always seem distracted and in a hurry.

You making excuses for a poor retail service experience makes it sound like you work there. Or maybe your little brother does. Based on first hand experience I'll take Byron's side of the story as real.

basspro crossing has actually been incredibly good to me the last few visits, same with proline. I find that the csc staff is definitely not as helpful or knowledgeable as they should be. They certainly haven’t been as correct as the last couple fellas I dealt with at crossiron that’s for sure. I bought a t3x online from them then went in for rings and I hummed and hawed over what height talley 1 peice to get and he said you’ll need mediums, I opted for lows and sure enough I was returning them next day for mediums.

If you’re looking for another store try Ben at llianjjang outdoors. It’s above the Chinese super market on center st. Language barrier but he’s got everything in there if you know what you’re looking for.

suggesting to cut a rail in half rather than 2 peice bases ? That guy should be sweeping the floor not behind the counter lol.
Second this, Ben was amazing, actually sold me my first gun.... the shooting centre seems to be struggling with appropriate amount of staff for busy times

Well let's see:

I don't know you or 'Byron'. You could be a second account of Byron's for all I know. If you b!tched long and loud like 'Byron' I might just think the same of you; a complainer with an axe to grind about trivial matters and things you should own as your own to fix.

Are you like Byron and expect a retail store to let you walk out with a ~ $1k worth of binos "to test them out" when looking through the window or looking at something across the shop isn't good enough? Even if a store clerk lets you out of the store with them are you going to feel slighted that the store clerk stayed with you during that time?

Are you going to buy a new rifle with no base and a scope and expect the store clerk to give you the perfect recommendation on ring height, and then b!tch about it online that the clerk missed "your" perfect set up despite not having the base in the first place.

As I've said, I have no affiliation with CSC. I'm a long time customer and I am a supporter of local businesses like Pro-line for over 38 years.
I too have not had what I would consider perfect service at all the shops I frequent, but guess what? That's life.

Grow some skin (and maybe some balls) and own your sh!t.

Hopefully you guys that are attempting to ridicule a person for their experience at a local store, get some big discounts at said local store for your hard work and determination in proving the customer wrong. There are some real dedicated folks on here for sure.......
A lot of these site sponsors seem to have fanboys who pop out of the woodwork as soon as someone makes a unflattering comment about their darling store…I swear some of them are paid by the company to do it!😂

100%

Some people really do feel as though they are perfect and the world must cater to their needs.

The very first post painted a clear picture….

I’m not sure if you’re aware or not, but with people today having such short attention spans combined with cancel culture, retail stores can lose huge $$$ because of online posts wether true or false.

The OP started this thread with the intention of smearing the store/employees when in reality all he’s done is show everyone he’s out to lunch.

And I say that as someone who has never bought a single thing from the store I question. 👍

Then no harm no foul against the store so why are you #####ing? I had a bad experience with a store that sold me a new shotgun with a head space issue. They did a Mickey Mouse warranty “fix” that did nothing to address the problem and when I made them take it back and refund me, they were just going to put it back on the shelf to sell to the next unfortunate buyer. I didn’t bother sharing that experience for the very reason witnessed here. I’m sure some poor sap bought that POS snd went through all manner of problems (excess headspace can not be mitigated by lengthening the fireing pin)

What are we talking about? I forget, but I do know I will NEVER go to Tim Hortons since they wouldn’t let the op use their binoculars.

If only people who had problems left feedback, everybody would have a 1 star rating and thats not fair to businesses. Reviews should be a Democracy.

Second account? Now thats funny. You weren't there those day I guess so you really shouldnt weigh in then right? You took a man's issue on a particular day and decided to climb on your soapbox, because that issue was HIS fault? And because you'd never do such a thing right? You're happy with whatever variety of service you get, every day of the week, and never speak with others regarding the experience. Uh huh.
Nope I've never actually had a reason to complain about my experiences in a firearms retailer to date being honest. Probably because 95% of my dealings are with a store in Lloydminster, likely the best in Canada, and they don't give their clients reasons to complain. I dare say a customer would never hear " cut it in half" there, and honestly, any employee there would walk outside with a prospective buyer wishing to test a set of high end bins. It's called proper service and respect

But, not much reason spending time picking apart the argument of a seasoned firearms owner like yourself. I bow to the unending knowledge of an sks owner shooting at a 25 meter indoor range. Maybe next time, butt out if someone makes a simple posting about shoddy service. Did he say it happens all the time? I very much doubt he was trying to ruin a retailers business with one post and "most" who read it could probably discern that. Contrary to your thoughts retailers often use small criticisms to improve themselves. If you weren't so busy jumping in to protect Lil bro you may have figured that out all by yourself.

Most of what you regurgitated is non-sensical drivel, but regarding this thread; it isn't my proverbial 'soapbox', it's Byron's.
I'm just adding my 2 cents on what "Byron" feels are "grievances" because quite frankly, they are bullsh!t and completely of his making.

Had you or 'Byron' posted this original post in a general portion of the site with an anonymous shop with his same complaints, I'd have expressed the same comments.

If you thing any shop owes a prospective buyer a duty of care to walk out of the shop with an un-paid for set of binoculars without an escort so said potential buyer can look though them, you're an idiot.
If you think any shop owes a customer the responsibility to set up the customer's rifle and scope exactly how the customer wants it to be all the while not having all of the required parts to do so, and on the very first try, and the customer owns no responsibility in such an endeavour, then you're idiocy knows no bounds.

You enjoy shopping at retailers that don't have the wherewithal to offer exemplary service and go the extra mile at times. Good for you. Shame that Wal-Mart doesn't have a firearms counter for you.

This will likely be lost on you, but worth repeating:

The OP did get to look through the binoculars outside like he requested and he was able to refund the scope rings he bought and was given store credit (that he could have used to buy the rings he thought were the correct ones in the first place).

Byron's complaints and this whole thread is much ado about nothing.
