When will 7.62x39 get any (new) love?

Agreed. I haven't gone past 29gr of CFE-BLK. I'd imagine it would be pretty compressed at 31.2gr

Yeah. Perhaps they are stopping at a needlessly low pressure limit, but I went with Hodgdon data which was a decimal point or two above that. 31 must be a crunchy sumbee lol.

Always amazes me how much some extruded powders really fill the case even at North American data, like "you can still fit a bullet in there?"

Non corrosive 7.62x39mm isn't that attractive anymore in price.

Bulk non-corrosive x39 is getting into the same price as 5.56mm.

Just scooped last few boxes of WM193150 at local bass pro for $0.54/round. And that's lake city milspec M193. PMC XP193 frequency goes on sale for around 60cpr.

I believe that both can be true.
The ammo, as made for milsurp, and its platforms are inherently inaccurate.
Is there potential for both? Absolutely!
Being that there was so much out there, I feel that both were just not sought by the big manufacturers for improvement.
IMO, the boat has sailed however. The business model is not there.

Since the last bans we've seen 5.56 get all sorts of coping mechanisms. First it was the turkish semis, then we got lever and pump options and more recently the Carmel and Makasi.

SO WHEN ARE WE GONNA GET ANYTHING NEW IN 7.62x39?!

I already have three SKSs, a RAR with AR magwell and a CZ Trail.

Im hoping something modular(ish) similar to the Carmel comes out soon!!!
What kind of accuracy are you getting with RAR ?

For the 'cope' from down under, I have a Taipan-X in 5.56/.223 and can 'just squeak under 2-MOA' out to 175 yds - all my range has. But NO probs with short-stroking or 'coming un-locked' as many have postulated. And it's only 6.5# unloaded tho it feels heavier - and ironically that's about what the trigger pull is 😜

If anyone could accurize the SKS to make it a 2 moa rifle that would be great.
There is a shop in BC rebarreling SKS rifles w match grade barrels. The problem with that is you now have an SKS that costs $3000.

Thats a spicy meat-a-ball!

Had seen the Rifleshooter guys get there with their Howa but never went that high myself

That's a good find. I have both Sierra flat base soft points .311 bullets and H322.

Holy cow, if its out of its crappy wood stock and into a chassis I kind of wonder how much the accuracy would improve. Could they be consistently under 2 MOA?

Right on! Hope you get some great handloads going!

Tenda has 5.56 for cheaper. 7.62x39 is done for the “cheap” factor. Soon it’ll only be brass cased at the same price as 308. I’d rather have a new rifle in 308

Yeah its seriously freaky to see 5.56 the same price or cheaper than 7.62x39!

But 5.56 is for bolt guns and cope sh*t now hahaha. And i don't much care for 3 MOA ammo in the bolt guns when I can reload.
