Brand New to Canada: SG-12 "SPAS"

Mag tube extension is fine. I did notice the little tension cap that holds the spring had moved up a little. Maybe I didn't have it seated down far enough when I reassembled.
The magtube spring retainer coming off is a known issue, as seen in this video:

Since the mag extension is hollow and the capacity limiter is not impinging on the retainer, recoil will inevitably cause the retainer to come off. With other guns using a spring retainer like a Rem 870, the mag tube cap is directly pressing on the retainer and keeping it from shifting out of the tube.

I wonder if anyone ever looked at this little book that was in the SP-12 box...

Cool stuff.

Make sure to only reuse the OEM parts and not change them out. Everyone seems to think to do such a thing is a cardinal sin.

And check the magtube extension isn't falling apart.
No one thinks that. What happened was you change out parts on a new to market gun and said it doesn't work.
Then put out thread saying PROHITED GUN , PROHIBITED GUN EVERYONE PROHIIBITED GUN.
Pretty sure if TI felt there was a legal issue it would be addressed but you didn't give them a chance. That and you in there with tools.
Hmm Calgary ....TSE...Swiss arms......Something in water

Yup, this guy is using facts, must be a Treaudope Librul

Buddy and I put about 8 boxes of 2¾ trap shells down range today. Very reliable with the few failures likely going away after more break-in. A few double feeds from the mag when fully loaded. Something binds the magazine spring when I try to over feed a shell that won't fit, so then the first shell presented is loose in the tube with about 3/4 inch of play.

"Very reliable" ..... "It suffered multiple failures over just 200rds of ammo"

Pick one you can´t have both

Here are pictures of the receiver damage and the bolt. It appears a corner of the bolt has not been relieved enough to clear the tool radius in the back of the receiver. I'll likely just toss the bolt in the mill and nock that corner off. Or maybe throw a chunk of urethane in there as a buffer. Sucks but also, meh. It is what it is. Didn't affect function.
mine is getting the same wear, rounded the bolt edge off with a file so maybe it wont bust itself up too much anymore

It's a $500 Turkish shotgun with a $500 SPAS 12 furniture set. Expectations are set for a $500 shotgun. If you think it's a $1000 shotgun, you are wrong.

All failures went away as the day progressed. The cause if all failures was diagnosed and mitigated. None of the failures were gun breaking or unexplained. The failures to feed only happened during pump firing, caused by user induced short stroking. The double feeding only happened on the first #### with a fully loaded magazine and only when I tried to jam an extra round in the magazine. My guess is that attempting to insert the extra round is making the follower or spring bind at the end of the tube. Should be an easy fix.

"Hoarding as much of the supply of a commodity as possible in order to limit it's availability so you can scalp is the free market bruh, if you don't understand that ur stupid
There are many in this forum who believe this community is a benevolence society. They feel that we should not capitalize from each othe
so WHEN will we see the next batch,,dont feel like paying double the price to the assh&^%Ts in the EE,,LOL
seen them for as high as $2500 on another site ..

Would an after market “no jam” follower rectify this issue

I don't think it's a $1000 shotgun. I never said it's a $1000 shotgun.

I said you can't call it "very reliable" then list a plethora of problems of a tiny round count.

you get to call it "very reliable" when it gets through 1000 rounds without a jam

JR Cox is hell of a thing to call someone, and I consider it highly insulting. I am not that snake.

You're right. I should have used the OEM spring and spring retainer. But I thought I knew better. I am knowledgeable in the subject matter. Other users with OEM parts are reporting the same issues now.

And you are also correct that Tactical Imports should address the problems.

In my opinion, Tactical Imports shipped hundreds of SP-12 shotguns that have a significant fault in the assembly of the firearm that puts their customers in possession of this firearm in legal jeopardy.

I am a customer of Tactical Imports, and I attempted to contact TI. I explicitly stated there were serious issues with the firearm and wished to speak with them. There has been no response to my email. TI posted a reply in this thread advising to clean and lubricate the firearms, and to use OEM parts.

Since TI did not address the serious concerns I had with the SP-12, I made a public a thread in the Black and Green Shotguns forum 4 hours after emailing TI. In this thread, I explained TI had sent me something I considered to be illegal.

https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/threads/sp-12-spas-legal-concerns.2595620/#post-21414338

Less than 2 hours later, and only after TI commented on my thread, the entire thread was removed from public view by CGN.

CGN moderators are welcome to explain why they removed the thread. They have communicated why to me, but I will let them explain their actions to the public if they so choose.

A separate user asked about my BGS forum thread, and TI replied they could not take the plug out of the magtube extensions with hammer and punches. Their conclusion is that only I have this problem.

https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...nada-sg-12-spas.2595012/page-17#post-21414774

The plug is threaded into the cap of the extension, and I let TI know this in this thread.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Honesty , I just here for the reviews, I held off purchase for this reason. I prefer that we all work together so dont get bent on the comments
I look forward to more pics and the next shipment from TI. I think as a price point, we are at its limit.
Thank you for those out of box assessments and TI for allowing us some 90s fun. Lifetime warranty all that matters at this point

Thank you for the encouraging works. I want TI to succeed and keep bringing in cool guns.

Range trip two is happening tomorrow, so there will be an assessment with OEM parts and the upgrades I have made.

Someone go put 500 rounds through this already and say if it cycles reliably or “just needs break in bro” it’s $1000 it should work right of the god damn box.

Let us know how it goes.

What parts have you upgraded?

I’m thinking of using a 1/2 inch wood dowel to keep the spring retainer from inching forward.
