Carmel all day long. The reputation of an established military weapons manufacturer as well as someone who can spend millions on product testing. For all the anti-semite schills, do you own SKS's or other communist block weapons? Douchebags.
How are you sure? You have either?
It’s not like the Jews haven’t Fuc ed up before.

When the SKS was first designed and produced, the nation was still called Palestine haha.

The real anti semites are those who believe in pushing certain people out of their country and into another.

Incidentally the origin/invention of smokeless gun powder, build up to WWI, Israel and the British all intersect fabulously.

Buckle up for that ride.

Cliff notes: A Russian born Jewish chemist was close friends with Winston Churchill, created a chemical process to produce smokeless gunpowder from potash, of which the largest deposit was held in Palestine. Thus Palestine was "acquired" to support the chemical industry and defeat Germany.

I think you're mixing up your wars (I know you are). Unless of course you're taking a position that WW2 is nothing more than an extension of WW1. If so, say so.

You realize it was Syria Palestine, a pejorative assigned by the Roman Empire to humiliate the conquered Hebrews by renaming their territory after their great enemy?

You also do realize that these ultimately are the Pelest: colonizing invaders from the western Med (Documented by Ramses II). Hated among all Arabs and Persians for descending like a plague on the region?

I guess what’s true in life is true in Academia. The Palestinian “cause” is a born loser whose hype never quite meets with its low bar performance.

How is everyone feeling about the Makasi vs Carmel as we get very close to supposedly getting them?

I’ve had my Carmel pre-order for a long time but also got in on the Makasi when the FDE 15” handguard models were announced.
I don’t know which one to keep as of right now, I’m leaning Makasi because it’s lighter, looks better with 18.6” barrel and I don’t know about the Carmel’s pencil barrel

Aren't the Carmel's chrome lined?

Defo not supporting anything Israeli, makasi all the way, hopefully the improvements in the upcoming makasis make it worth to get over the Carmel
who cares? Human will wage wars using whatever reasons they find convenience

I suppose a working gun bringing smiles on my face. Not ones with QC issues. fact is that Makasi's manufacturer knew their guns having QC issues for a long time but only decided to fix after feeling the heat from Canadians. I doubt they've done anything properly other than fixing some cosmetic issues.

My Carmel (R) showed up last night.

Short form?
It’s… ok

First impressions without pontificating about it:
1) it’s got that clunky “metal on plastic feel” (the bolt, the cocking handle, the mag release, the bolt hold open, the cheek riser)
2) the barrel is pencil thin
3) it is simultaneously fatter and thinner than you think it’s going to be (depending on the angle you happen to be looking at it).

Only got an hour to fondle it last night. Hole second impression evolves more favorably.

I like it. Just not sure if I love it…

Bummer. Something that costs $2500-$3K, I had better be in love with it for me to be happy. Maybe wait for a range trip before you pass judgement though. I've fondled many a gun and thought, meh...but then couldn't miss at the range and my initial thoughts were dashed. I hope this is the case for you in any regard.

Nope I'm not. Palestine doesn't get called Israel until 1948 obviously. Watch the video ;) it is about 1899-1917 and actually goes into great and imo relevant details to this thread about IWI, and about the smokeless gunpowder arms race in Europe. She names all the names as well as the chemistry and formulation of cordite and patent infringements for smokeless powder.

Britain colonizes Palestine, calls it mandatory Palestine, IWI actually claims to existed since then (LOL).

Frankly this rifle being made in USA is even more comical and a commentary on their sad state of politics and external interference.

The fact IOF dropped the Tavor for the OR-4 says a lot about their quality and/or how they have money printed for them.

Where does all the weight even come from?
If it was pencil barrel, polymer and ultralight I’d get it but at 8.5 ish pounds I don’t get it
