Landsborough Auctions Using deceptive AI images

Landsborough,
I don't know what happened to them and who is in charge now, but they are done, cooked.

I bought a ton of stuff from them, but the last 3-4 years they went down hill, and I will never even look at their auctions anymore.

Greedy and dishonest.
I'm close enough that I always pickup from these folks. The current staff in the auction side are clearly not gun people, just employees. I guarantee you they are totally oblivious to the situation.

Clearly incompetent employees
I mean really, an on line auction with generated pictures?
Do they do this with all the other items they auction off as well?
There are no valid excuses to be made

Based on my experience, some of the gun store employees are not gun people either.

The ladies that do the packing and shipping are under a lot of pressure to get things out the door. I get tired just watching them do their jobs.

First of all, I don't believe that they are totally oblivious. They would have items in hand, that they can observe, and then they intentionally create images that look nothing even close to what is in front of them.

And second, even if that were true, what does that have to do with anything? They should still do their job with integrity. Using AI to "enhance" images of products is, in my opinion, unethical, especially when market value for most of these rare/uncommon items depends greatly on condition, which is relayed through the images.

Really sad that you're making excuses for them. If you're close enough to pick up, maybe head over there and tell them to smarten up. The damage to their reputation cannot be undone.

You’re exactly right—the damage to their reputation cannot be undone, and they are doing it entirely to themselves.

... and they are extremely rude

Last time (must be 2-3 years ago), I came to pick up the items I "won", but they didn't appreciate that I showed without making an "appointment", they made me wait for 2 hours.
I drove 1 1/2 hours to get there.

This was and will be the very last time that I deal/dealt with them.

Their whole operation gives the impression to be some yokel business.

I bid in most of the auctions however, I was a bit salty when I picked up my last auction winnings from landsborough. I bid and won two bags of projectiles that were said to be 240 grain 429 diameter projectiles 1000 per bag (pictures were of a clear bag, no information on it). When I picked them up I immediately noticed they were not what they claimed to be, furthermore on the other side of the bag, not pictured, was a big sticker that said 180 grain 40 cal.......

When I mentioned it, they fell back on the "we don't guarantee what it is" claim. I showed them the information right on the bag that was not in the picture but that was no use, they didn't care one bit. Fortunately I have a 40sw and 10mm however, I greatly over paid for these projectiles. Since then, I have not made another purchase through them.
was there a reason you didn't do a chargeback on them?

Having dealt with this auction house many times with no problems, I'm going to guess that this was a supreme screwup by some moron that was assigned to "clean up the photography" and, instead of actually improving the photography, he or she accessed some garbage "Ai" supported photo software and used it to re-process the auction images with little control over what it was doing. The proper approach would have been better camera, better lighting, etc. There are a lot of people out there that rely on the digital crutch.

Sorry to say this but...
This is the type of mindset that got Canadians a commie government even after 10 years of Cultural Revolution 2.0.
Also got you various scammers schemes rampant in this country:

Canadians gave way too much benefit of doubt on some clearly unacceptable behaviors.
