My Norinco Type 97 Shorty - Range Report Post # 80!!!!

so is the rifle now official chines military issue over the ak? obviosuly I am sure their military still have Aks in vast numbers but are they now issuing this? and in .556 or is that just a commerical thing and its in that other chinese caliber? Obviosuly shorty is for navy/ armored/ sf and full length for infantry etc.

does anyone have reliable information on this?

Chinese millitary issue is 5.8, 5.56 is the commercial version.

If this thread is just going to be arguing about where the rifle belongs, I'm going to lock it.

It doesn't matter where it's included, as long as it's here somewhere.

I have a better suggestion...
Give it it's own forum category, and put all the threads in there.
Title it, things that we want imported for sale in Canada right fricken now! :D

Shorty was used by chopper crews.

Thanks for those - is that is the same pistol lever is selling? If so it's very impressive. I had a good look at it when I bought my 97. It felt good in the hand and the sights were excellent.

yes, it's the same pistol that lever is selling.
PLA type 92 = commercial CF98 = Norinco NP42 with different grip logo

the top one is the 9mm type 92(CF98 at lever), the bottom one is the 5.8mm type 92

sorry I was not gonna turn this thread to the type 92 thread. :D
