Barrel length is 8.86 inches, apparently, although it looks longer to me in the pictures; OAL is 18.5 inches with the stock folded and 29.13 inches with the stock extended. Overall weight is 4 lb 3 oz, which is quite light for an SMG. It'd have to have a pretty ungainly barrel to make non-restricted--here's a 'shopped up version:Would a change from a folding stock to a fixxed stock make it NR? What's the barrel length & OAL?
Hmmm..that doesn't look terrible but I would still prefer the restricted version.
I'd get a Czech 26 if it ever appeared. CanAm hinted at this other bullpup.
I still have yet to see the czech SMG which I know actually comes in semi.
Also wouldn't the new chinese SMG be a more likely candidate?

The question becomes are they still making them.
We spoke to them last night. They have not been made since 92. They would need a large order to make a civie version. So it looks like a no-go.I was on the Norinco web site last night and it lists the type 79 as one of their available small arms so they must be making new ones...
No number was discussed, but the implication was that there is no way Canada could absorb the needed number. How large of an order![]()
