Another 'would you consider importing' thread: Chicom SMG

I was under the impression that many items on Norinco website are for foreign governments only, not for civilian market.

All that bolt action stuff is limited production and very expensive. You will not likely find anything on the net that we haven't already discussed with them about importing and either are importing it eventually or have decided against it.

You did mention an 05 in an earlier thread. Out of curiosity, are the semi-auto only 97's a custom order, or are they already building them for police/export already?

You are the CGN Gangster CanAm!........so I assume from the above statement that you are all over this Type 05 like Dekard on a box of surplus 7.62x39??:D I need something to keep my type 97 Shorty company....

Hey CanAm why not give Deckard a job as your procurement guy. :D
Send him to Norinco HQ with a blank cheque. :D

Speaking of which I do know of an experienced shipping logistics person if your interested. :)

I still have yet to see the czech SMG which I know actually comes in semi.

Also wouldn't the new chinese SMG be a more likely candidate?

 this one yup. The other one, no way. Not my style.

I'd definately be interested in the Type 97 based SMG in 9mm. Very nice. Like the lack of the big carry handle as well. Wondering where the charging handle is? Or is it using some type of HK P7 style deal with that hand guard safety?

Hmm the 9mm police version with the rail is also the exportable version :D.

I have to admit I would probably get one.
From the two seconds of reading I just did, it seems that the charging handle is on the right for the police model.

The type 85 would also be a neat companion to it. The 85 is a simplified version of the type 79, and uses a blowback open-bolt system rather than the gas system of the 79.
