intersting conversation with the Remington guys today

BINGO! I wonder what any accurate rifle inthe hands of a decent shooter should be called. God forbid you call it "sniper, tactical or police" it seems.

And yes guys this is the US that is making these waves, our government is not involved, for a change, not that they would try to help anyway.
I have not figured out yet if Feinstein or Arnie are involved, but would not be surprised.

Democrat Nancy Pelosi is the majority leader in the house of representatives. She is a soulmate of Feinstein as far as giun confiscation is concerned. So i'm sure their politics are entering in these decisions- just like the lieberals are influencing the CFO in Ontario.

Some think a Conservative majority gov't will be able to change water into wine and free us all from gravity.

If it bought them what they think they need to get ahead they'll sell us out for sure....

Some think that CPC majority would let us close the doors to the terrorists and kick out some that are already here.

How about T.h.o.m.a.s T.i.n.g.e.r? For him a semi-auto replica of a WW2 machinegun is still a machinegun 'designed to kill troops in large numbers' (his own words).

Future Remington rifles to look out for.

5R Civillianspec :D

The 700Pal. Your hunting budy and trusted friend. You can always count on your 700 Pal ;)

As the world continues to get lamer.....
You know I always thought that crap movie Demolition man was complete cheese. But somehow we seem to be sliding toward that type of future.

Lets make sure we all realize something here.
I am simply passing along what I was told by the Remington rep I deal with.
He told me that they are not getting any export permits approved that contain ANY 700P rifles or 870Police shotguns.

If what he told is correct I would assume that the HS "Tactical" series as well as the Savage Law Enforecement models and any others that use the dreaded words in the name would also be on the same plane.

I don't like what I heard, I can not forsee the future to know if this IS going to be the case and more than I can say whether we will see any of the big makers rename their products to be exportable.
As I said I am just passing on what was told to me by a believeable source in the industry.

No, the prospect of a CPC majority doesn't take on a bunch second coming bull####, to me at least. What it does do is take us hopefully off the supporting Hezzbolla etc. list. This could(You'll notice I'm not saying would) perhaps soften the U.S.'s concerns about us. This of course all goes out the window if Obama ben bobama gets in.

Rick the big thing is if the manufacturer is deemed a essential or prime defence contractor this makes exporting firearms from the US next to impossible for the civilian market IE:McMillan rifles is deemed a essential military manufacturer there rifles including hunting rifles are restricted to US sales only NO EXPORTS other than Military or Law Enforcement Agencies outside the US.The McMillan Rifle Stocks are not included in this category

Humm, another strange move....

Can we export bubba carcano's from the US ??? I heard they are quite effective...

McBros I understand, we still could import hunting rifles and even tactical rifles from McMillan, just not 50s as long as there was a secondary party before the exporter, due to the strange working of the Cdn distributor.
I don't know how though the DOS can can claim that a 700P is more of a threat than a 700VLS, the only difference is the finish and stock material.
It is still stupid no matter how you look at it.

Rick I agree the official policy from the State dept is beyond comprehension in regards to wording but I have heard rumbling of this type of word association a couple of years ago at Shot and thought it was crazy at the time to decline export permits based on have Tactical or Police in the product description. If however the US State Dept has deemed Remington a Essential defence contractor they can impose product trade restrictions. As for McMillan rifles being exported out of the US for the civilian market it is a No Go by US State Dept ,I finnaly recieved my Tubb rifle and the Importer was told by the US state Dept that would be no exporting of McMillan Rifles outside of the US

I see SIR is advertising the Remington R15 now. Its a wonder that the DOS is letting that one out of the country...

What about the SPS Tactical or the XCR tacticals?
