Iledwod,
You rifle is on a 1640 action. To make a positive ID on you rifle, we need a complete rifle pictured.
Anyways, if it's a short barreled action (520mm) it can be a 1600 Std, if it has a cheek piece but a straight comb it's a 4100 and if it's having Monte-Carlo stock with a cheek rest it's a 4000.
It can also be other models, so give some more informations, i.e. barrel lenght, stock stype, stamping on the barrel etc...
The .308 Win caliber is a very good catch, since it's not very common in any trims.
John,
I saw this very nice 1651 .358 NM already (on another forum board). Glad to see it found a new loving home within the Gunnutz brotherhood.
Is it stamped "Special" or "Lyx" on the barrel?
Your Dad's rifle is an early model 4000 (Monte-Carlo stock). PM me a valid e-amil address and I'll send you a Tradewind's catalog page of this rifle.
Sure this babe will bring up (and keep) good memories from your Dad.
