Glock owners... does this happen when you load a full magazine?

Not disagreeing with anyone here. Everybody's thing is different. The first time I saw it happen it happened to me and it fired a round into the ceiling at the range in the process. Granted it was an old BHP and it sure wasn't mine. I've been told that it's unsafe and no pistol should do that. Wasn't told specifics as to why not, just that an instuctor and a smith both told me it shouldn't happen. My 2 pennies.

WOW! Slide closing after slamming the mag is one thing. A gun firing by itself is another story. Might look like a dumb question, but did your finger where on the trigger when it appened. If the gun fire without pulling the trigger it is a BIG safety issue and this gun should not be fire again until a gunsmith take a good look at it.

This is my .02 cents

I don't really like when this happens, because what if it closed before the mag was seated and didn't chamber a round?

Now that would test me to see if I am flinching :slap:

Dang... you know what's even more funnier, during my match on Saturday I was taking my time with each shot that I even try to feel the trigger reset. Well I even flinched once on that part as well :slap:.
I practice dry firing, practice with my HW45 air pistol but still I feel I need actual range time with the .45cal :runaway:

If you're pistol slam fired, I would put it away until checked.....or keep your 'safety' off the trigger. ;)

My G22 does this as well, never a problem. My first IPSC comp I had one course of fire with a very high round count, I ran my last 2 mags dry and changed them with a 'slap' load to drop the slide home.....not any slower than my other mag changes as far as i was concerned. (I try not to do it on a regular basis....people would laugh at me..)

It can't happen. The slide close only when the mag hit the bottom of the grip.

Yes it can happen, Craci is right when he shows concern. I see this(slide closing and no round chambered) on a regular basis either at the range or during a match. Tap rack is the answer to the problem.

On a different note, if the pistol in question that "fired" was a Glock, then something was on contacting the trigger, most likely a finger.

Some call it" slap and rack". Most auto's will do it. I do it with my M&P and glock. ..and its poor weapons handling for sometimes you can throw a rd out of the mag causing a jam.
