Not disagreeing with anyone here. Everybody's thing is different. The first time I saw it happen it happened to me and it fired a round into the ceiling at the range in the process. Granted it was an old BHP and it sure wasn't mine. I've been told that it's unsafe and no pistol should do that. Wasn't told specifics as to why not, just that an instuctor and a smith both told me it shouldn't happen. My 2 pennies.
WOW! Slide closing after slamming the mag is one thing. A gun firing by itself is another story. Might look like a dumb question, but did your finger where on the trigger when it appened. If the gun fire without pulling the trigger it is a BIG safety issue and this gun should not be fire again until a gunsmith take a good look at it.
