What a crappy pistol...

I think an HK squeezcocker trigger would have melted long before the end of that test.

The P7 wouldn't have melted, but your finger sure would have as the gun used your hand as a heatsink (still a way cooler gun though):D

Impressive demonstration by the Glock.

I'm sure they could've fired that 1000 rounds much quicker if they weren't actually shooting properly. When Todd did his test he just blasted, a lot of the time not even aiming or doing proper trigger pulls and follow through etc. I've shot 1000 rounds as fast as I can through a variety of guns, never had any issues other than ammo (duds, no primers etc), Glock, Tanfoglio, Berettas etc.

Pretty impressive, but aren't most critical failures reported using a .40/.45/10mm glock?

I'd be interested in seeing a Springfield XD go through the same test.

Not quite the same test as this video, but (this one time at band camp) I once put 750 rounds through my XD40 in about an hour with no problems :D:D

While not a glock owner, their reliability is indeed impressive.

Well your going to damage any handgun firing that many rounds in such a short time. These gun are not meant to be shot til there red hot.

that's why god gave you 2 hands. You tell me what goes in the left and what goes in the right...(and keep it clean)....
Me: weak hand Glock, strong hand Kimber.

I still don't know what Tod was all excited about at the end, other than yes it was 1000 rounds down range, that any hill billy could have done and probably quicker with all his dueling banjos kin loading the mags and drinking moonshine at the same time.
I was only impressed that the gun did do it with no time to cool off!

so buy a metal guide rod and be done with it. How is it a crappy pistol?

The funny thing is, all the new guys think TDC is knocking glocks.. Anyone who has snooped the pistol section, glock inparticular. Will find some TDC posts about his thoughts on glock. If you take some time to read his signature you will see he is a true glockaholic.

So i guess this means my sp2022 is going to melt aswell, under similar circumstances. :nest:

Have any other guns gone through a similar test?

Sure. But Glock seems to be the test subject of choice for more than their fair share of tests. Seems a lot of people just have to keep proving over and over that Glocks are not the useless pieces of s**t they appear to be.:stirthepot2:

They ain't the prettiest girl at the prom but the sure can dance and probably cook too. Beauty fades, the reliablity sells. Nuttin wrong with Glocks. I sold mine and bought an M&P and should have had my butt kicked. I miss my Glock.

I am impressed with the durability of the polymer frame and it's ability to handle that extreme heat.

I've heard many people talk bad about glocks but after seeing this video, I'll be disregarding what they say.

Glock 19 " OVER TEST "

I am a VERY PROUD OWNER OF GLOCK 19
After 1000 consecutives bullets fired it is normal that this happens IT IS NOT A MACHINE GUN......
YOUR TEST GIVES MORE VALUE TO THE GUN.(my personnal opinion as A Mechanical Enginieer)

I wonder if tests on heavier caliber Glock would produce the same result?
I am a proud owner and heavy believer in my G17, but have always wondered if the same durability and reliability is to be expected in the .40 .45 .357SIG 10mm and now this .50 (ouch) guns?
