What a crappy pistol...

I'm at 2000 rounds with my glock 17 and I haven't had a single problem.

I am at about the same round count with my 17 and I haven't had a single problem as well. I have tried JHP, TCFMJ, FMJ and 115, 147 grain. But then again I own a ScorpoGlock LOL...

You guys are missing the most important conclusion the guy making the video came to. 'the Glock will still function as it self destructs' Enough for me. Also, it's fair to assume that some of those 100 or so mags would have been in less than stellar shape. 1000 rnds on a pistol? I don't remember if that's slow, or fast rate on a machine gun...Pretty fuggen impressive if you ask me. I'm now even more sold on Glock. Interesting thread!!

Yeah, I can't believe it was still firing with no guide rod? The spring was like pushed back inside the gun and it was firing wow... You can't friggen kill the Glock even when you intentionally try to buy firing 1000 rounds consecutively through it.

what if the mags he used towards the end were not "factory" or really well used ? ;)

"factory" mags are known to stick as well if I understand it correctly, and I don't see why "really well used" would cause them to stick the way they were. But I admit I don't know a lot about the issue.

TDC while sometimes opinionated is higly knowledgable, I would aggree with 99% of the things he says.
not that my opinion counts worth s**t

sucker. TDC's actually a liberal MP who donates all his money to the Coalition for Gun Control. and he's got you right where he wants you now. run. run fast.

The Para did it in less time with no FTE of any kind and nothing broke.

Not sure what a test like this proves as it would have no practical value in the real world. Glocks are great pistols but they are mechanical devices and they do break just like any other mechanical device. Just like other guns do.

I would own one in a heart beat if they ever get around to changing the grip angle on the gun. They likely won't and neither will I.

Take Care

I dont mind shooting glocks, they are easy to operate. But I am not impressed that the guide rod melted... I am however impressed that it was still shooting after the fact. Its an interesting test. I would be suprised if not most of the major pistol manufactueres would be capable of performing well.

I doubt any of the mags were faulty, I also doubt the ammo was a big issue, S&B is not necesarilly bad ammo. Im leaning towards tireing hands.

A Sig Sauer on the other hand would have preformed much better in a similar stress test :stirthepot2:

I have to agree there, if you're carrying 1,000 rounds of pistol ammo your priorities require adjustment - especially if you're in a place where you can use 1,000 rounds.

I was there and watched this test.

The 19 was Yeager's carry gun with no special prep and went back in his holster after it cooled down and got a new guide rod. The XS Big Dot front site melted a bit too.

If it is in fact sarcasm then I apologize. When I read the title and then read Glock I immediately went into defensive mode. Glocks are reliable and I'd trust my life to one any day.

No offense taken, but have a look at my signature line. I think it says something about being a Glock kool-aid drinker.;)

What can cause hang ups is a burr on the magazine cut-out on the magazines themsevles. The burr appears over repeated use and can cause the mag to stick. I take a razor and shave the burrs off when they become an issue.

Pretty impressive, but aren't most critical failures reported using a .40/.45/10mm glock?

I'd be interested in seeing a Springfield XD go through the same test.
