who each year donate 1000 Sierra 155's for the SPRA ISSF/ISU match to our club which we hand out usually 100 or more bullets to the winner in each class of the ISSF/ISU (TR M, TR EX, TR SS, TR GS, FF and FO)

=================================================

Hope to see you all out for this one and please support those that support our sport and this and so many other competitions.

Picture001.jpg

Above is the Driller's Trophy. Each year, the winners of Small Group and FF & FO Palma get their names added to this trophy. It is a tad heavy so it says at the clubhouse and that is why HitYourMark aka HPBT made a set of traveller trophies for the winners. He and I made this trophy up 3 yrs back and added cartridges of F Class rifles that have been used at Nokomis to it. More have been used at Nokomis, like the 6.5x55, but these are the ones we used. 223, 22MR, 6BR, 6-250, 243, 308, 300WSM, 30-06, 7STW, 300WM, 340WBY, 338SDM

Thank You,
Keith

Any details on camping or accommodations?

Noted Ian, I added a link to a page on this site that explains all of this, just above the Adam's Lake Logo in post 1 of this thread. Also, the original post and pdf said 2008. This is a 2009 match. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

Thank you sir for all your help and support and we will be happy to sit around and pass the time and a jug Sat evening with your hillbilly contingent from BC :)

Sincerely,
Keith

Thanks Keith! If I can be sure of getting auto propane for the mo-home along the way (getting more and more scarce!) , I will drive/camp otherwise I will likely use a local hotel and take the car.

Thanks for putting in the time to make this happen!!

ian

The Co-op gas stations along the Yellowhead all carry auto prop I believe Ian if that helps ya'.
I can check for ya at work on Monday. I work at Federated Co-operative Ltd. as an IBM eServe (Mainframe) z/OS MVS JES2 Systems Programmer

Ian, I checked and not all Co-op's along the route from Kamloop to Nokomis have Auto Propane. You better have an extra 20 lbr you can hook up if you run out LOL

Spread the word, with over an estimated $4200 worth of prizes to be giving away and won, this is the one match you should make this year!

Where to stay....

Our clubhouse is always free. Tents, RVs and campers are free too but electrical will cost you a $10/night donation to our club.

Nokomis (7 miles away) has a Hotel and their rooms are the cheapest at $32/night and has one or two places to eat at too. They also have a campground.

For those of you interested in other places to stay near the range (you could even bring the wife and kids and make a holiday out of it at Manitou Springs and do some gopher shooting on the way home), both Watrous and Lanigan are only 1 hr away (60 miles) and offer more choices and places to eat and drink.

Bring your rain gear guys, historically we get 0mm to 25mm of rain on June 20-21 and the temps are around 5c to 15c. We shoot in the rain at Nokomis, unless there is lightning! Hoping for the usual Nokomis winds and sunshine myself, but better to be prepared than not.

The Driller's match only offers FO and FF classes, agg prize wise. With 18 1st place medals in total for both events on Sat. and money card payouts based on the 3,6,9 rules to the winners, I've made the donations door prizes, so even the poorest shooter has a chance at the big prize, and more than once since you will have more 50/50 tickets still in the hat after you win the first time! With 25% going to the FF Palma winner and 25% going to the FO Palma winner, and the remained going to the club help cover expenses.

The ISSF on Sunday is open to all shooters, FF FO and TR.

I'm filling in the relays and berms as the entry forms and fees come in. First in, first on the line guys!

If I missed you in the ISSF portion email me asap...

| The morning of the Driller's is like string shooting or ISSF for you prone types, thus 6 relays.,.,.,..;,..,.,.,.,. | In the afternoon, we will re-squad anyways and pair up for the 2+15's and we will have 3 relays.

were is the paid relay & berm assigned shooters for the Driller's....

Mutt, all you need is a PRA membership (APRA/SPRA/BPRA/MPRA etc)

The SPRA one is only $50 if you are not going to Ottawa and the others will honour a SPRA membership too. I think the APRA one is more, could be wrong but I do not think so....

I know it is still 185 days away (over 6 months until the match date of June 20-21, 2009), but half of the available openings are already filled. This is going to be a great match. We are up to 3 relays for the morning's group/score (single shooter to a target) and two relays for the afternoons Mini-palma (pairs shooting). I figure another 5 or 6 locals will get aboard soon too, leaving 12 or 13 spots open. Post #1 has the number of opening available and post #10 has the list of who is registered. Payment of the match fees are not due until March 31st. Once again, support those that support our sport and thank you for the interest in this unique match, see ya all there.

KODIAK
put me down for two spots. myself and a buddy would like to give it a go.

Mutt, think you can make two shoots out here in the same year??
One thing you will need, is a scope with lots of windage. Nokomis is nothing like that nice little hole you have out there. Looking forward to shooting with you/against you again.

let me know the dates and we will see what we can do. got all my .338 parts in and will hopfully have it rippin by spring. im thinking of building a new gun for strictly f-class shooting this year. not sure on the cal just yet.

Since some guys are asking.... DCRA rules on F Class

(5) 'F' Class Competition Rifles
.-.-(a) F Class “Open” (O) Rifles
.-.-.-.(i) Any rifle of up to 8mm calibre may be used (see also Rule 11.21), but 'rail guns' and similar devices which provide positive mechanical method(s) for returning to the precise point of aim for the prior shot are not permitted (see also Rule 11.15(2)). The rifle may, incorporate an integral or attached mechanism for raising and lowering its butt. See also Rule 11.05(2)(d). Rule 11.05(1) also applies. NB: This maximum calibre limit of 8mm applies only to Connaught Range and Primary Training Centre; calibre limits for events held at other venues may differ, so must be determined and promulgated in advance by the organizers of those events.
.-.-.-.(ii) An 'F' Class (O) rifle's overall weight must not exceed 10kg (about 22-lb) including all attachments (such as, but not limited to, its scopesight, sling and bipod, if any). NB: an "attachment" is defined as including any external object (other than the competitor and his apparel) which recoils (or partially recoils) with the rifle, or which is clamped, magnetically or viscously held, or in any other way joined to the rifle for each shot, or which even slightly raises with the rifle when lifting the latter from its rest(s). See Rule 11.05(2).
.-.-.-.(iii) Barrel extensions of any length may be fitted to mount the foresight or act as a counterweight.
.-.-.-.(iv) Any safe, mechanically-operated trigger may be employed on an 'F' Class rifle.

Caution: Trigger adjustment is best left to a qualified armourer, but trigger safety at all times remains the ultimate responsibility of the competitor (see also Rules 1.02, 11.03 and 16.27(2). In particular, a safe level of sear engagement must be retained when attempting to minimize trigger "drag".

.-.-(b) F Class “Farquharson” (F) Rifles meet the above F Class (O) specifications, except that
.-.-.-.(i) Only ammunition that completely meets TR specifications (2.23in/5.56mm, max bullet weight 81 gr; 3.08in/7.62mm, maximum bullet weight 156gr) may be used, and
.-.-.-.(ii) The overall weight of the rifle, with all attachments, must not exceed 8.25 kg.

(iv) Any safe, mechanically-operated trigger may be employed on an 'F' Class rifle.

A Safe trigger is one that will hold the firing pin open on a empty chamber when the bolt is closed slowly 5 times with the barrel plume. The Nokomis North Star range (SPRA) allows up to 338 Lapua Mag cartridges at this time. No muzzle breaks allowed in competition.

When I say the 300M at 600 yd group and score leg Saturday morning will closely follow IBS 1000 yd LG rules for Group/Score, I mean it is 3 relays of 5 rounds for group and score and if you win small group in your relay, you can not win high score too. The IBS weight limit of 17 lbs is not in effect, weight will follow DCRA F Class rules above. All shooting is from the prone position for the Driller's matches.
