[Well this is her so far.
Original
C3A1 stock
Trigger group
magazine and internals
Not original
Receiver/PH 200 series
Barrel Montana 26 in. C3A1 contour as close as possible
Near rail
USOptics SN-3-3x17x44
Rifle was bedded as Carl had instructed every screw torqued to specs. Rifle weighed in at 17.5 lbs with scope and rail.
I had a chance yesterday to sight her in at 100-500 yards. The load was an old one that shot true 1/2 inch groups at 100 yds with my Tikka tactical and sometimes down to .3s 168gr. combined technology Noslers, Lapua brasswith 44.5 grains Varget.
This load in the C3A1 clone went.
1st round 2" right Centre Rifle is cleaned after every round untill 10
2nd centre centre
3rd centre 1/2 R
4th centre 1/4 L
1st 3 shot group .75
I shot 3 shot groups none where more than .9s at 100 yds most held the .7 groups all rounds where clean barrel. groups held less than 1 MOA all the way out to 500 yds.
On the USO-SN3 the tracking was absolutly the best I have seen so far[I hate to say it but better than my MK4 and i like the MK4 a lot] The 1/10th mil clicks are great for fine tuning. The scope was easy to adjust onto target and worked the box as well as any scope I have used.
The rifle recoils strait back with no muzzle jump and is a pleasure to shoot. I will try a few new loads in her to see if i can tighten her up. I will not be overly disapointed if she does not. I am getting mostly a left right dispersal on shots and that is not the rifle i believe that can in my oppinion be attributed to my hold and pressure on the rifle.
All in all a good first outing and 30 rounds written in the book.
regards Tim
