Stoeger Shotguns

Yeah, you know your stuff!;)

Some user experience fail to eject when fire directly overhead have you notice that?

I haven't done any overhead shots with it yet, so I don't know.

I guess I better do some shooting next week.

damn.....

:)

Cool, please let us know!

It will be wonderful if someone can find a fully rifled barrel with cantilever mount for the 2000 it will be an awesome deer / bear gun!:D

I have one of the new outbacks in 12 gauge, regulation is good have shot about 1000 rounds through it with no problems

My dad has a Stoeger .410 coachgun. Verrry sweeeet and fun little shotty for bunnies and fool hens up close in the brush. It's a nicely made sturdy gun and has been flawless since he's had it...now going on 15+ years.

Own a 12 ga o/u condor supreme and happy with its performance. Removable chokes, single select trigger, nicly figured wood, extractors. What else could you want for the price??

I have had a 20 gauge uplander for a few year and it has been a great gun. I purchase a camo 2000 last fall and have hunted a little with it and shot a bit of trap. I am pretty satisfied, but I have a point of impact problem to sort out with a bit of stock fitting over the winter. It was shooting about 6 inches left at 25 yds. I placed a temporary shim between the stock and the receiver to give it more cast off and the brought the point of impact closer but I will need to make a thicker shim to get it right on. After I get the proper thickness of shim I will modify the stock. Although I like this gun it doesn't compare to my older Remington 1100 which unfortunately is only a 2 3/4" gun.

As to the question of the chokes the 2000 takes Beretta style tubes (threads at the muzzle end ot the choke tube),but my 20 ga Uplander appears to take a different style altogether (threads at chamber end of tube).

Have you taken it hunting yet? I'm guessing no if you bought it this winter. Perhaps you should take it hunting and put it to the test before you pass judgment.

That is a good point, but I have shot a bunch of 3" steel shot through it, without a hitch so I am optimistic.

I have had a few issues in the first few boxes of shells, but I was shooting target loads, not the recommended magnum loads(for the break in period), so I wasn't surprised.

Reliability has improved and I expect it will be just as reliable as the benelli's that it copies.

If turns out it is a lemon, you can bet I will be the first one to motherf%#$ it and call it all sorts of bad names. I'm a university student, I spent a lot of money on this gun (a lot of money for me anyways), if it ends up being a POS I will be pissed!!

But you are right it is a little premature to call it 'gun of the century', but I have a good feeling about it.

I should also mention that my good SXS is the model with double triggers. I've hear that single trigger models have problems.

I thought mine was great too. It was the new model. I took a few ducks and geese this fall. It jammed a few times and I blamed it on this or that. But on a four day trip hunting ducks in New Brunswick it broke on the first day, and again on the second, and again on the third. It was a different failure every time. The first time shells wouldn't eject, there is a small torx nut on the left side of the receiver that isn't very tight, it worked loose during the day. A bit of blue loctite fixed that. The second day hulls wouldn't extract, the extractor had worn down. On the third day the gun wouldn't cycle properly turning it into a single shot. The bolt had been slamming into the the back of the receiver causing it to run out of battery. I also had a POI issue with mine, it was shooting low.

I have the stoeger model 2000 synthetic. I have brought it duck hunting with me 4 times and have done tons of skeet and all that. Each time hunting the damn thing jams and I miss opportunities. The shells in the magazine will sometimes come out and jam up in the bottom. Other times I pull the trigger and nothing is there. It has let me down so many times I am going to have to go out and buy something different.

GB ans Sam,

May I ask is your gun pre or post 07?

White or orange front bead?

I know the pre 07 are prone to have problems and the post 07 (produced with cnc are with better quality).

Did you break them in properly?

Mine was post 07, red bead. I followed the full break in the manual. Better quality than the old Stoeger 2000 doesn't really mean a whole lot. I bought mine on a whim at a DU auction, it was a purchase I came to regret.

I asked a questiona about the condor combo as it's a O/U that's been known to have trigger failure problems when trying to fire the second barrel. Is that a thing of the past or is it still a problem? I'm looking at getting a gun I can use on upland game and geese but if it's still a problem I'll just get the uplander as I've been planning since the other guns I'm looking for all require shipping which will make it more then the Uplander.
