I might try to rig something like this. I made one for my shotgun that is pretty strong - PVC pipe is awesome.

I was also thinking of adding a side rail using those cooling ports so I can add a flashlight mount. There is mention that the top rail might be too light to support multiple attachments.

Has anybody researched different types of slings that would fit the T-97?
It appears to have an SKS type sling in some photos.

As I will be dragging this puppy into the bush, I will need a sling to carry it around. Doesn't look like conventional slings will fit it.

It looks like only the military version of the rifle has non-standard rings. The one being imported looks like a standard 1" rectangular ring. I have a convertible sling (changes from single point to 2 pt) that I made myself that I'll be using, but any standard sling should work.

I think he's talking about the grip and longer trigger type guard on a few of the pics in the diagram, which is similar to the grip on the AUG

Although, given what has happened to Marstar's VZs I'm worried about the Type 97...I can see them reclassifying it as a prohib even if there already is a restricted version FRT#.

From the other thread:
"Someone at the CFC/RCMP doesn't like all these "military style" rifles coming in, particularily cheap ones that are easily available on the open market." VERY OBSERVANT
