does anyone have pictures of the carry handle by its self? id like to draw something up and maybe make up a new low profile handle with a integral rail.

The Type 97 has the same action, the only differences being a longer barrel with no flash hider and no vertical foregrip. I think it might be somebody looking at them and thinking: "thats friggen scary for a non-restricted".

Why would ours not have a flash hider? There's no import ban on them, only the US doesn't allow the export of them.

I just got off the phone with CanadaAmmo. I couldn't "take" the waiting & not knowing any longer... (I was billed for my T97 on the 28th of January...)

Anyhow, here's the "scoop"... Canada Customs has sent a "sample" of the NON-Restricted T97 to the RCMP... So, the rifles are still in the grubby hands of Canada Customs & one poor unfortunate rifle is with the RCMP... I "wonder" how much "testing" they do of the firearm? I certainly DON'T want the rifle the RCMP had!!! Poor poor rifle... Anyhow, CanAm did say that it should only take a couple days for the RCMP to "inspect" the rifle and tell Canada Customs to release the shipment...

He didn't hazard a guess as to when he'd be shipping, but I did joke that gopher season was coming up and I needed the rifle for that...

You have got to be freaking kidding me...there is already an FRT # etc for the Type 97...I think it is time for some very pointed letters to the SOLGEN about CBSA being a law unto themselves and being too freaking lazy to check the FRT before they detain a shipment...Right when the economy is in the tank, some anti-gun CBSA officer with a burr up his butt decides to make life difficult for a small business owner. I think the CPC has to start purging the lieberal bearacracy that has infested the public service. Last time I needed an opinion from the RCMP weapons tech it took six weeks! Mark, I'd suggest filing a formal complaint with the SOLGEN as he is the minister responsible for CBSA.

My bad on the flash hider...the Type 97 does have one, its just not that fat flared one like on some of the type 97As pictured on the Lever website.

Well said. Those #######s are accountable to no one. I will be writing my mp and the solgen if this shipment is witheld too much longer.
