NON Restricted Colt Ar in .22lr

If they cost 500USD down there, they'll cost $900-$1100 canadian up here. But this is a complete guess with no data to prove my numbers.

Either way, non-restricted, I'll take one.

After lots of reading I have done, that rifle has only the name COLT, the rest is a very cheap gun, paying for that $699 + tax NO THANK YOU.

It is branded a Colt, but is not made by them... how do you know that it is a cheap gun though?

There is a Smith & Wesson M&P coming out as well in .22LR, will that also (hopefully) be available? Anyone know?

the s&w rifle is all polymer construction. i havent found where it is manufactured though.

the urmarex / colt rifle is made by carl walther and has a metal body.

i don't know which would be better... plastic or cheap metal..?

either way, these are going to be a ton of fun for target shooting and small game hunting. I do hope they bring out shorter after market barrels. A 11.5" barrel would still be non-restricted by a half inch on the urmarex rifle.

Umarex does not make high quality gear. I hope that everyone just uses prudent judgment with this thing. It is a 22LR that will be of low quality. Yes it may look interesting BUT that is the selling feature! It will probably be made of cheep pig metal.

I hope it is high quality and tougher than hell but I seriously doubt it. Just use good judgment when you buy this thing. We dont even know the price yet...

Why toss out 500-1000 when a 10/22 custom done and high quality is 1000...... the Ruger will last you! this Umarex thing might just end up in the dump after a year.

Actually we do know the price, and it has been posted variously on these threads. What we do not know is if the non restricted FRT number was/will be issued.

Methinks hfp75 doth protest too much. :rolleyes:I think he wants one so badly he is cutting these rifles down, in two different threads, because he's hoping that everyone else will give up on them. That way he is assured to get one (or two) when they finally arrive.
Go on, tell me I'm wrong hf, I dare ya.:p
These things are gonna rock!

So can you give us a price again;)I must have missed it.I read a few threads about what maybe they will go for but didnt see any definate price.

movingtarget.ca shows a price of $700 - $1200 depending on the model. I'm guessing (emphasis on guessing) the price progression goes:

M16 $700
M16 SPR $800
M4 $1000 - $1050
M4 OPS $1200

Don't have anything to base this on, but speculating is fun. :)

What does this mean? When is a 11" barrel non restricted

When it's a .22LR and overall length is the only factor in being restricted for a rifle.

You can put an 11 inch factory barrel on a 10/22 and it stays non-res, provided it meets the OAL.

Are you planning on bringing in more than just the M-4 style?

I'd be interested in the 20" platform.

Any idea as to whether or not they are compatible with such AR items as buttstocks, handguards, etc, or are the completely parts incompatible?

+1, NS. Set it up like you would your SR and practice, practice, practice. The cost savings in ammo alone would justify the purchase of one of these rifles.

Get some reduced sized targets for 50yd.-75yd. ranges and you'll be good to go.
