Russian SKS45 long thread.

well i'm pissed.

they lost my order. i discovered this before the shipment came in they told me the best they can do is to have me put in a new order and i would end up in the at the end of the line, as they couldnt actually tell that i had placed an order.

I explained they had been updating me on my order for a year now and they should rightfully put me somewhere ahead in the queue. I had this email from last june:

They'd look into it and call me back. No calls. I call back - no one available to speak to me, they'll call back. I call back, L____ay is not around. This goes on for a couple of weeks.

I call back -- all the rifles gone. Sorry.

Now thats customer service - way to make the situation right.

So heres a big FU to you SIR.

Time to take my money elsewhere -- but the reality of living in canada is that the we don't have the market choices as in the States, at some point i'll probably end up dealing with them as a result of no other choice.

If you want one of the Bell refurbs, give Randy a call at Yorkton Home Hardware. He'll pick you out a good one for $199.

Where do i find them and how do i order. When i type in sirmailorder it goes to cabelas website and when i do a search all i get is sks replacement mags. At that price a guy needs two!!

Feel Bad

My laminate from Frontier is a Bell refurb with a painted bolt and a welded post, but the weld job does not look to bad. Not as butchered as some I have seen. If you did not know it, you could hardly tell.

I honestly feel bad about the descriptions of these rifles. After such a long wait to be sold these firearms. I got my SKS from Frontier and sure it is a Bell, and sure it is a refurb, but Marlin handpicked it ($250.00) and it is in near immaculate condition, matching numbers (not electropencilled). It was only luck as Frontier was the first supplier I saw for SKS's before I knew of this large shipment to Canada (or was a member on CGN) and I ordered from them. If not for luck, I would have been on the SIR/Cabella list. Even from Frontier I waited 9 months and would have been incredibly disappointed if my SKS had shown up in the condition reported by some here...Are each supplier paying different prices to the importer for different quality firearms? I have not heard any complaints of Frontier's or some others product.

You don't SIR/Cabelas is not selling or taking orders for Russian SKS's
They were filling back orders from over a yr ago . & what they are sending out is not what they originaly advertised price or condition . Believe me you don't want one . There are other dealers selling ones in much better shape or check out the EE they seem to be still selling for reasonable prices & you can see what you are buying .

I am so glad I did not get one from SIR. The ones from Yorkton were IZH refurbs and are 10 times the quality as he SIR ones. I do not feel bad paying the $20 extra for shipping.

Yeah, at this point I'm not actually that pissed about the rifle itself -- I am pissed about how they handled their screw up. Thanks to all who pointed me towards better product.
