I can only repeat what I've been told but ask Canam and Lever, I'm fairly certain that they will confirm this. Sort of like the polytec M14 vs the Norinco M14 thing, china is a weird place for this sort of stuff.

I seem to recall Chris mentioning that the 95/97 series are built in two factories.
How that might affect any RCMP decision, I don't know.
I suspect it will have no impact.

Ahh... CGN at it's finest. 55 pages of unverified rumor and panic.

B B BBBB But..................the sky is falling............wolf.......wolf..tt the skkk..
.........aaahhh..I just looked in my yard a the cops here cause I said type 97 out loud aaahhhhh

A lot of people are concerned. There are legitimate reasons to be concerned. But there is very, very little useful information in this, or any of the related threads. It is too bad that these threads fill up with with, well, unhelpful posts.

Please tell me how posting conversations with the CFC and Registry is spreading unverified rumor and panic?

There are a lot of facts here - if you care to read them.

If you have nothing constructive to add - move to another thread please.

Yes there is concern because the last time i checked i was on the hook for over $900.00 and i am starting to get pissed off at the lack of information from all parties concerned.

You are absolutely correct. There IS useful information hidden amongst the dross. Perhaps it would be worthwhile for a moderator to delete all the posts that do not contribute. Then such facts as there are would be readily accessable; the folks who do have legitimate concerns could easily learn as much as possible.

As a mod, I truly don't feel like digging through 551 posts, looking and figuring out which posts are good/bad/useless.

The hue and cry of foul for deleting stuff would probably be high, becuase folks are like that.

In truth, I'm all for letting this thead grow and see where it goes.

(Make that 553 posts....)

I posted this on one of the other "re-classification" threads. I suspect that one of the reason the T-97 and the new VZs are being screwed with by the RCMP is because they have not hit the market yet, and they can get to them before they do.

I suspect that any new military style semi that gets submitted from now on will get the same treatment.

Hopefully this means that they can't/won't mess with all the stuff already out there, which seems to be borne out by the fact that the old VZs are unaffected.

I've had my Type 97 for a while now. How long that "while" will last may well be another thing.

Well, then I'm wrong...

You are wrong, and to prove it:

So pay up, deadbeat.

...and you're displaying a very strange attitude for someone who could very well be directly affected by a lot of "unverified rumor and panic".

Yeah? What should I be doing? Running around screaming that the sky is falling? It's the end of the world?

The fact of the matter is that neither CanadaAmmo or the CFC has issued a definitive statement about this issue.

Either I will eventually get my gun or I will not.

Maybe one in ten posts in this ridiculously long thread actually address the subject. The rest is wild speculation and panic mongering.

Yes, I admitted I was wrong. I don't think you need a quote and a screen cap to prove it repeatedly. But anyways, that is totally beside the point of the thread...

What is happening here is dissemination of information and discussion. I don't see any panic or fear mongering, just concerned people who are becoming motivated and are unwilling to just sit back and take whatever is decided for them.

Too bad you can't see that.
