And that's the closest thing to real information we're going to see until at least Monday folks.....'cause I'm pretty sure the boys ain't working the weekend.

Yes, I admitted I was wrong. I don't think you need a quote and a screen cap to prove it repeatedly. But anyways, that is totally beside the point of the thread...
What is happening here is dissemination of information and discussion. I don't see any panic or fear mongering, just concerned people who are becoming motivated and are unwilling to just sit back and take whatever is decided for them.
Too bad you can't see that.
I've had my Type 97 for a while now. How long that "while" will last may well be another thing.![]()
Question för you guys who know. When a firearm is being reviewed, is it normal to prohibit it before the review is complete?
If the g22 has been on hold for 5 years, can't legal action be taken against that?
On Farmer Harv's side I must say that even though he doesnt have a monentary interest in how this whole T 97 fiasco turns out, he is still willing to get involved by showing interest and writing letters / emails / fax ect. That is the true Gun Nutz spirit and much better that sitting on your rump and waiting for this Anti gun movement to spread like a yeast infection.
Only three things can happen:
1) The legal classification stays the same as it originally was.
2) The Legal classification changes to prohib and we get to keep them through some "new"grandfather status.
3) They send their jack booted thugs to come get them - with no compensation
I think either option one or two will happen. I'm more hopeful for option 1 than I was in the middle of the week.
SPI - again - please stop. You are cluttering up a thread that you hate because it is so cluttered...???

ONLY THREE THINGS CAN HAPPEN
http://cmte.parl.gc.ca/Content/HOC/Committee/391/CC35/Evidence/EV2893084/CC35EV06-E.PDFThe tragedy at Dawson College in Montreal has reinforced the
need to strengthen Canada's controls over civilian firearms
possession. To our knowledge no new firearms have been added
to the restricted or prohibited categories in Canada for over a decade,
yet many new firearms are being offered for sale that would arguably
meet existing criteria. As a consequence, some weapons are being
legally sold in Canada despite the fact that they meet existing criteria
for restricted or prohibited status and present significant concerns for
public safety.
Retailers understand and exploit those loopholes, as demonstrated
by the posting of the website for Wolverine Supplies in Manitoba—
you'll find it in your brief. We submit that further steps must be taken
to close the loopholes by updating and maintaining the restricted and
prohibited firearms classifications.
I found this statement about a year and a half ago. It was in Bill C-35 (reverse onus in bail hearings for firearm-related offences) that was presented to a legislative committe in May of 2007 by Tony Cannavino, President Canadian Police Association. By the sounds of things, someone took the ball and started running with it.

What "Criteria" are they referring to, exactly?
They specifically point at Wolverine Supplies... Do they mean the AR180 and the such? I've yet to hear of someone going on a murderous rampage with one
