IMO, a serving soldier who has just returned from overseas duty can do whatever he wants with his pistol.
What do you guys do everytime a longbranch enfield or inglis HP show up? Those firearms actually served![]()
You just don't get it,it has nothing to do with if the firearms served or not.
This much I get:
A) Guy buys a pistol from Para, who engraves it for him.
B) Guys lists said pistol for sale.
What am I missing? Perhaps you can enlighten me....
A) It's not simply a Para gun that was engraved for a guy. Para put a special offer together for serving CF personnel.
The details were supposed to be kept amongst CF members, including a break on pricing. This was done for the CF in appreciation for their service.
AgreedB) He can list whatever he wants for sale. No arguements.
As stated, they do this for many, many agencies. This isn't an exclusive deal. What many find unsettling are the facts of A), a gesture of appreciation specifically for CF members, combined with the hefty mark up on price. And when I say hefty, it is indeed hefty.
I'm sure the boys and girls at Para are pretty versed in business acumen, and not as bloody naive as you think.I'd hate for Para to get wind of this and shut the offer down. I'm pretty sure this isn't what they had in mind.

Without question, they have considered the fact some may sell second hand.
I'm sure they have also taken into consideration the fact most 'limited edition' engraved pistols don't sell for anything more than a standard model - because that is all that it is - a pistol with engraving on it.
I think it is pretty low to try to sell the pistol at that price. If he ordered one and decided he didnt like it, I can understand selling it.. But selling it at more than double the price he paid is robery to someone who hasnt seen the order sheet. I think we should make sure wordstwice is aware of this and that this guy cannot order any more guns. If he sells his lda for 2200 dollars he might put an order in for more!
He can ask whatever he wants. But then again, someone has to pay that amount too.....
He needs to add the words 'tactical', 'sandbox' and 'real steel' to the ad, then - he might be able to get what he wants for the gun.Remember "there's a sucker born every minute"

on a happy note, I am putting my order in for 1 maybe 2, today.![]()
Roll your eyes all you want if you want to be a ####. I'm not so naive to think this never crossed Para's mind. Yes, they've certainly made their profit. I only stated that I'd hate to see Para turn it off...that's all.

So I'm the #### now? WTF?
Why would Para turn off sales of their pistols? Because one fellow lists his for sale at a couple of grand? Give your head a shake.
How is it some of you are so insensed over this, but don't get all emotional over 90% of the guns that are overpriced in this country? How about the 'limited' numbers of guns such as H&K G36s, Valmets or the like that actually sell for thousands of dollars above what they are worth.
Who really cares what he sells it for.It appears that some of you here think the golden goose is about to fly south, Well wake up and smell the latrine .If Para Ordnance were so sincere about showing appreciation to the CF members they would have initiated this program long before they started the a program for US servicemen and LEO instead of Now .Beltfed, Para offered these pistols at a discount as a thank you to the Canadian forces personnel, as a tribute to those who gave there lives, and those who risk their own every day. If one of those personnel decide to sell the pistol, fine, But since he is selling it at, what was it, twice the price? And since they just came out, it means he took advantage of Para's Thank you to the CF for his own personal gain. Which is an A** hole move. If he bought it, did not like it, and sold it for the sale price, it may be a different story.

I know when I joined in 1973 there was a thing called Duty and Honor to serve in ones Military .I don't expect nor do I demand appreciation from anyone for the 13 yrs I gave to the Service of my Country. If you joined the CF to be appreciated I think you need to talk to your career counsellor ,I am sure Garand could send you to good one![]()
