For the most part I often see the same thing with 10/22 owners.
Also personally I have seen enough over the last few years to keep me from buying a modern Remington firearm.
at least as far as a vq extractor is concerned. Ruger doesn't have the same issues across its entire lineup though.
Until people say enough and stop buying products causing a major market share loss, they probably won't change }:-( I just bought a VSF Desert Tan that needs the firing pin done because the bolt hole is too big. Will be sending it to Guntech for repair because I don't have the time or energy to argue with some warranty depo. I will have it trued, bedded & the trigger done while it is there. It shoots ok, but my issue is when you pay good hard earned money you expect a good product. By the time I have all the extras into the rifle, I am creeping up to the price of a stock Sako Varmint which I can almost guarantee would not of had any of these issues. For me, this will be my one and only Remington.
It makes for a good prop for pictures though!
Once guntech works it over I'm sure I will be happy, The barrel does not clean as nice as any of my Sakos, but I kind of expected that. Figured a custom barrel would be in the future somewhere. Really only bought it because I liked the action & stock. I did hope it would be better though }:-( That's is sad though when you come to expect shotty work from a company.
I think with all the members that post first hand "real" stories of the problems
and negative feed back from Remington products,
word will get around to stay the hell away from them.
Hopefully they will smarten up, before they need a government bailout.
Same thing when telling members when purchasing items that
require shipping, to ensure that it doesnt get shiped by UPS.
Every company can have a problem once in awhile, but if thier
warrenty is not worth the paper it's printed on,
that says it all.

came. People were buying Jap cars not because price was cheaper (was not)
they had a better product and warrenty.

I'm sorry my friend, but you are incorrect. I would have put it on that way if that was the case. If you are refering to the back mount it would interfear with the bolt lift if reversed. It has to face forward to clear.If you turn your rear base around 180 deg., you will find you can move the scope back even farther, genius.
I have bought and work with about 200 new rifles over the past 25 years. In the last ten years or so I have bought 13 new Remintons, every single one of them had something wrong or needed work to get it to shoot even close to acceptable. Some folks have good luck, but not me. I will never buy another Remington rifle. Sako, Tikka, Browning and Ruger no problems. It always gets me when I talk to somebody at the range claiming their Reminton is the greatest rifle, but its wearing an after market stock, replacement trigger, custom barrel and has been accurized by a custom gunsmith. Sure its a good shooter Bell and Carlson stock, Kreiger barrel,Timmy trigger and Sako extractor.
