3rd Annual Driller's F Class Match & Sierra 300M ISSF - June 20-21, 2009

I know I'm late for this but are there any fun shoots planned in Saskatchewan this year? The Summerland shoot in BC got me interested.

Good luck to everyone this year at Driller's.

The deadline to get your entry forms in is approaching guys (end of April) and there is already some concern from TR side about the day light hours for the ISSF on Sunday. As some of you know, the ISSF time limit is around 2 hrs per relay including the prep time, sighter target and 1.5 hr 60 shot portion. With only 6 target frames at the range, this limits the number of shooters that can shot the ISSF to 5 or 6 relays or 30 to 36 guys. The Driller's is full of us FR's and 6-10 TR shooters will want to shot on Sunday too so get your entry forms in asap to me if you want to secure a spot for Sunday's 60 shot ISSF. I'm not running the ISSF but if you have paid for both the Sat. Driller's and the ISSF ahead of time, you are in.

Entry form attached to this email.

The club has (actually myself, since I have not been paid back yet for the club) around $600 invested in the shoot so far and only 10 of shooters are paid up to date, come on guys, lets get some of those forms and cheques sent in please. It make us look better to the old TR guys, like we are committed to this event, and they will feel better about investing in the new 1/2 MOA FClass centers the club has also ordered for the up coming year.

I'm filling in the relays and berms as the entry forms and fees come in. First in, first on the line guys! (The winds get worse for the later relays, usually) See Post #10 on the bottom page 1 of this thread for your relay/berm numbers. If you want an early relay, send you form and cheque made out to the SPRA in to me asap.

If you don't want to be on the last relay, get your entry form and cheque in asap. Post #10 has the relay and berm numbers for the people that have already sent in the form and cheque.
What I do is keep your cheque until the end of each month and then I send them in to the Treasurer, Peter J. who then deposits them, so your cheque number may be outstanding for a month or so.

Later,
Keith

UPDATE: The person running Sunday's ISSF has told me he is limiting the ISSF to 24 shooters!

I originally though we could get more thru but he is running the ISSF so... get your entry forms and post dated cheques made out of the SPRA in asap, esp you guys from out of province who want to shoot both days!!!

There is 19 pre-paid spots filled for the ISSF already!

See ya all in 56 days!

Sunday's ISSF is full at 24 shooters!

The ISSF is now full! We have 24 paid entries. Sorry to the four listed below that wanted to also shoot the ISSF on Sunday. You waited too long to get your entry form & fees in. I know I did promise some of you places in the ISSF, but at that time I did not know Peter J. who is running this portion of the match only allows 24 shooters into the ISSF.

What's this??! Sold-out rifle matches?! Wow, you guys must be doing something right!!!

:agree:
Yes, sold out, both days, with scoped FClass shooters! 36 in the Driller's and 24 in the ISSF. Should be a great event, lots of good competition in this field of shooters and the small group at 600 yds should be tiny! The sell out is either the smaller targets (300m@600yd etc) or the prizes or the possible cash in the 50/50 for the afternoon portion or due to the Driller's being an F Class only event, or it's hybrid format (Grp/score in morning and the pairs 2+15 in the afternoon) or the combing of it with the ISSF. I should ask at the BBQ so we can try to have a repeat success.

We are lucky to have an ever growing FClass group in Saskatchewan (up to 27 or so now) and have lots of regulars and being centrally located we are blessed with friendly inter-provincial traveler's in both F and TR class. The TR group in Sask is also a pretty friendly and very knowledgeable bunch which helps too and the Nokomis winds are always a challenge.

Here is the ISSF competitors on Sunday...

Bring your lunch or.....

Since we have so many relays for the Driller's and ISSF, we may have to shoot straight thru if we have any problems, so BRING A LUNCH and eat it when you are not on the line Sat and Sunday! You could also eat at Nokomis (7 miles west) when you are not on the line. Each relay should be on the line for approx. 30 minutes Saturday morning and there are 6 relays so we should be done by 11:00 am IF THERE ARE NO DELAYS or ISSUES, but count on a few problems. We will also have a chili on at the clubhouse in a slow cooker if you forget to pack a lunch so you can just have some of that (if you can stomach it - I like it hot... LOL)

All awards and prizes will be given out after the shooting Saturday for the Driller's Match.

Estimated Relay start times Saturday morning
8:00 Relay 1 (5 min setup, 5 min sighter's, 5 min per group * 3, 5 min to get off)
8:30 Relay 2
9:00 Relay 3
9:30 Relay 4
10:00 Relay 5
10:30 Relay 6

Estimated Relay start times Saturday afternoon
1:00 Relay 1 at 600
1:30 Relay 2 at 600
2:00 Relay 3 at 600
2:30 Relay 1 at 800
3:00 Relay 2 at 800
3:30 Relay 3 at 800
4:00 Relay 1 at 1000
4:30 Relay 2 at 1000
5:00 Relay 3 at 1000

Supper and Awards after ...

Estimated Sunday ISSF times...
24 guys, so 4 relays of 6 shooters, and each relay has 105 minutes (1.75 hrs) to shoot 60 rounds and their sighter's so....

8:00 Relay 1
9:45 Relay 2
11:30 Relay 3
1:25 Relay 4

This will leave some time for scoring and challenges in the ISSF and awards

See ya all in 31(Friday opening gate) to 32 days(Saturday) for this match...

Richard, you asked... "The ISSF will be 60 consecutive rounds?"

We will change the target 3 times (20 per target)... but yes, the 60 are as consecutive as you want, it is up to you, you have 105 minutes.

Nope, you have unlimited sighters, then you say you are going for record, no more sighters, 60 for score, so after 20 they change the face, so you will have 3 faces with 20 rounds on each, unless you crossfire, then you will be looking for the missing shoot for awhile LOL

You're not gonna make this easy are you?

Only 12 days to go till match day!!

Driller's Update:
8 committed competitors have yet to pay up and we did have 2 paid up guys drop out. I have not released their spots as I'm hoping they will still come anyways, plus it does give us some breathing room or for a couple of walk ups, so their MAYBE up to 2 to 10 spots open on match day if the committed do not come.

ISSF Update:
Still full of us Fr's (24 competitors)

Looking forward to it and have booked the Friday afternoon off so I can get the groceries and get out there to open the gate for you travellers.

The weather guy is calling for cloudy skys at this time...

Keith
