I am considering trading my AR 15 plus some cash for a Robarms XCR...

The AR is a RRA lower with a 16 inch LMT flat top upper.
What I wanting to know is, is what is a reasonable trade offer? My AR straight up, or plus cash?

Love the AR but, I want my main black rifle to come with me hunting coyotes and the like in the back 40...

Thanks for your opinions.

AND if you have an XCR that you may be interested in trading, let me know what you think.

Seems to me the AR is in the $1600 +/- neighborhood and XCRs are going for :)puke:) $2500 new:confused: and used ones go for $2000 - $2200.
Personally I think the setup you have is far more valuable as a working rifle(despite being restricted), but as you say, you need something to take afield.

Personally, I think you would be better served by a Sig Classic Green....

I have owned classic greens, XCRs, and ARs, and although a big piece of my redneck heart dies ever time I transport a rifle under an ATT, dollar for dollar the AR is generally going to be the better rifle.

That said, if you really want a semi auto coyote blaster, the XCR can certainly work. Don't think of it as a non-restricted AR though. A classic green is better balanced, but it will also cost you another ~800.

Thanks for the replies. I do not want to trade my AR... and I do not believe the XCR is a better rifle but, the non-restricted part is very attractive. Ahhhhh

My buddy has a Classic Green and it is a beautiful, well made rifle... although, a little out of my price range at the moment.

Oh well, back to the non-restricted black rifle thread (which should be a sticky)

You can always trade your AR for a Sig "classic green". Then you'll have a nonrestricted AND an accurate milspec rifle:)

The only issue with the classic green, for me, is the cost. Not saying that it is not worth it, just not too me at this time.

I am currently interested in the XCR if the trade is right. I would never pay $2500 for a new XCR. However, an XCR in really good shape would be worth $1800... so my AR plus maybe $200-300.

So, that's where I'm at at the moment....

More opinions are always welcomed

For less money you can buy an HK SL8 and it'll be a tack driver out of the box. For the money you would spend on an XCR you could put a quality optic on it and still be ahead of the game.

Well, now is your opportunity to inform the rest of us what it is about the XCR that commands a price tag that it does.

The XCR retails in the US for $1500, hardly what I'd call overpriced considering the features it offers.

As for the price tag in Canada, I'll leave that explanation to the importers and the douchebags in the EE who sell at ridiculous prices...

Ask yourself two simple questions, how important is it to me to have the ability to shoot my rifle outside of a approved range? and how much do I want a rifle that isn't as finicky on cleaning as an AR?

if you rate those two question fairly high on your list, than yeah XCR is worth looking at.

Buy a Mini 14 target although not as apealing as an XCR at least it is not a over priced POS and does offer a good value for your dollar

Good points hbean. I would go for an XCR just because it is transportable to where ever you want to shoot and the mags are way cheaper. What the H&LL is up with $90.00 mags for the swiss arms?

Sorry to hijack but I cant find the length of the xcr and swiss classic anywhere (from butt to tip of the barrel ). From what I can remember from handling them the classic green is longer?

XCR = NR + 10 round mags from LAR 15 for something like $25 each makes it a compelling rifle. I won't ever sell mine, except for the XCR in .308 maybe.

I would, but to me an AR has 0 value (I live where there is no range), I'd rather have a NR black rifle any day of the week (which is why I bought a Black Special).

You have got to stop blaming us for the prices there. They retail much lower here. It's just how it is.

I don't know you too well, but it seems like you are one of the first to reply on every single thread involving an XCR, and it's always a quick bashing and then you're done. No offense, but WTF did Robinson ever do to you personally? It seems like you're heartily dedicated to bashing and trashing our product mercilessly. Just sayin'.
