GLO 7;
"I would only buy direct"
I apologize, I had no idea that you were that big, As Marstar currently supplies the two largest importers in the USA as well as most of the wholesale distributors in Canada, I did not realize we had missed one.
That's correct. I will only buy direct or I will pass on the offer. I have no room for distributors. I'm just a speculator with a small "corporation." Perhaps the word corporation implies largesse, but as you know, it is just a legal framework for a business.
I am puzzled by your statement "I'd rather not reveal the company name until such time as I have export/import under control,"
Both of the firms you mentioned have absolutely no reason to be ashamed of their company or of their internmational reputation.
I can't see why you would be ??
"If and when" I secure a shipment from Norinco, you'll know exactly who I am and who I represent. In fact, I will pledge the publishing of the bill of sale online.
"I would rather not have my company name discredited or marked as a failure." My friend if you are concerned of failures in this business then you are truely a "virgin", the arms trade is full of failures and disappointments, if you haave not experienced any then you are either very astute or VERY lucky.
Nevertheless, as I said in a prior post, if these guys can bring it in, so can I.
"I am not really interested in any other firearm. " For someone who claims to have been a "gunrunner" you can afford to pass on deals without knowing what they are, I envy you.
Did I say that? I am not a gun runner John. I was referring to the old boys gun running network. "Skim Reading" on the Internet is a common problem. The way human beings read is changing.
On the other hand should you be interested in some very nice surplus rifles let me know. Garands, Enfields, Mausers etc.... My employees are currently doing the inventory of three foreign sites....
Those are all interesting firearms, but none have the potential of the M14, besides, my company is in process of manufacturing parts for the M14.
I don't understand your fixation on money costs etc, etc, a firm the size of yours would not worry about that.... MY RULE of thumb in the surplus business or for that matter any arms import these days, IF you can't afford to lose it don't buy it....Just like going to the casino....Its a gamble.
Perhaps the above didn't come out as you intended? Is there a business that shouldn't be concerned about costs? Norinco Equipment is a mulit-billion dollar corporation that does business regularly in Canada. Risk is mitigated somewhat.
I am certain you won't mind if I speak with Robert about some of the material, I would feel better if I could say who I was talking with rather than GLO-7 ?? Or are you the new owner ??
Right now, none of that matters. If I am successful in importing these items, I will gladly invite you to my place of business and show you new, innovative applications for this rifle. Good times John.
