factory ammo

ONLY 3! ! ! ! ! !???????????? hOW LIMITING ! ! !
Let's see.
#1. .22-250
#2. .338 Federal
#3 . .30-06 SPRG.

Now here is my real list.
#1 . .220 Swift
#2 . .270 Weatherby
#3. .338 Federal
#4. . 405 Winchester
#5. .404 Jeffery
#6. .375 Ruger
#7. .50 BMG

.223, .30-06....do I have to pick another?

If I must pick one more, a .338 Win. mag for the big Alaskan Brown bears and NWT/Yukon moose (which I will probably never see!).

Here is what I use:

.223 Rem for Varmints

.308 Win in the Bush(Deer, Black Bear)

.300 Win Mag out in the open(Haven't killed with it yet but have shot it out to 600 and I find quite flatter shooting than .308 or .30-06.)

.22lr(gophers)*surprised no else mention this yet....ya i know its not centerfire but come on!
.223(coyotes)
.270(deer/moose/elk)

He said only 3 centerfires.... you can have as many .22's as you like... :p

NAA.

some interesting replies....460's for moose...overkill and the price of factory ammo will prevent many from shooting enough to be proficient with it..

I'm gong to be tearing out my gunroom soon for reno's and I'm not sure I'll set up to reload again.

I leaning to 223, 270 Winchester... and either 7mm Rem Mag or 300 Win Mag....have all of the above already...have a 7mm Weatherby too
and a couple 7mm STW's...but factory ammo is very limited for these two.....

For me
223
30-06 or 300 winny
375 H&H
Sounds good,
but probably the 223, a 30-06 and a 20 guage shotgun for grouse, that would be efficient but boring.

WHAT?....no 7mm SAUM????

adding in a shotgun I would have to go with my only shotgun...a Winchester 1300XTR 20 gauge that I've owned longer than any other gun I have....

I'd keep my two 10-22's also...

I originally asked about centerfire rifles only...:D

If I do this, the list of rifles for sale will be quite looooong......:)

When's the next Gunshow in Edmonton?

I'll go with the 223 and the 30-06. If I have to go with another, I'll take a 375H&H just to pownd the snot out of some unsuspecting elk.

223 for all the small stuff

300WM for all the long range big stuff with appropriate bullets for the particular critter

35rem for the close-up big stuff

I'm late checking in, but I'd go 223, 7mm-08 and 300Win.

The 223 would be a sporter, the 7mm-08 a Kimber Montana and the 300Win...not sure. It might just be a Montana WSM.
