Shotgun sub sections? (mods?)

Is the shotgun forum SOOO busy that it NEEDS a split? I don't really think so.

I can sympathize, but the problem is that the CGN board's search function is like feltching a sheep on a submarine after a 6 month tour of duty. The experience is just so terrible and terrifying that you can't make me do it.

Finding what one is looking for would be made easier with a split. It would also make my envy of the finest doubles less painful if I could stick to the forums with guns I can afford. When I get the money, and I will, I can then look to the fuddtastic guns and own a piece of art.

While I do love all guns, and all gun uses and I consider all of them "real-world", I loooove teasing fudd as a people. Not for their guns. Not for their sports/uses. But for their narrow mindedness. Some Fudds are actually gun control proponents. You can ban the tactical pistol gripped pumps as long as you leave my fine doubles alone is an all too common refrain. I'll stop poking fun at Fudds, when I stop getting the stinkeye or worse at the range, when rules made can accomodate everyone reasonably and where the value of your gun is not taken synonymously as the value of a man.

Well spoken sir.

Actually what is rude...........or more precise down right disgusting, are shooters that think that only THEIR particular brand of shooting is "legitimate".
I don't believe anyone is suggesting their particular brand of shooting is "legitimate." There has been some derision of assorted participants in varying shooting sports but that seems to be equally shared by both sides.:)

The best way to stop this would be, ahem, splitting the forums. ;)

In fact there should be adequate grounds for consideration when numerous members have voiced a common opinion pertinent to the original topic.

.

Snide comments and elitist remarks as a common opinion does not render a section possible. From my perspective it makes it less likely. But that is up to the admins not I.

Of course the "flavor" of this thread was set in stone from the tone of the OP so I cannot blame everyone.

You'd be hard pressed to keep every 870 Police model with wood furniture or every Mossberg 930 field/security combo in their proper sections. It comes down to what it's being used for, not what it wears. Or have you folks not seen the Stoeger Double Defense model yet? :)

That really does not matter.
That's too bad that our thoughts on this issue do not matter. It was a valid point of dicussion.

As a matter of fact many of you just embarassed gun ownership.
"Embarrassed" .... How? Much of the discourse on this thread was polite with some being tongue in cheek. For the most part, no one got their knickers tightened.

You will agree that it does take both hands to clap effectively :). Hard to ignore though that the demonstrated collective behavior is not befitting firearm enthusiasts/sportsmen despite the diverse points of interest.

I personally feel that it would be constructive to have two different forums on Shotguns – not simply to minimize conflicts but to provide access to independent domains in order to better facilitate info sharing and discussions.

:agree: I would like to see two different forums, Sporting shotguns in one & tactical shotguns in another.

I don't see why we can't have two sub-forums. Cost/snobbery has nothing to do with it. I don't care if you have a $2000 tactical 8.5" shotty or a $200 Stevens SxS.

There need not be labels of Fudd or any other, simply 2 different disciplines, like the Black Rifles and the Red Rifles.

-Hunting and Sporting Shotguns
-Tactical and LE Shotguns & anything under 18"

:)

Mall Ninja?

Ummmmmm. No.

Tactical would be mall ninja :D

Outlaw would be zombie gear for Fudds? :D You have to fight the deadites somehow. Boomsticks are clearly the tool of choice.

Tactical/Black or Sporting are the only two for me. Outlaw would fall under tactical by virtue of it's bad assedness. (Short barrels)
