You don't seriously think there would be a shortage of 7.62x39?
Nothing like making sales pick up by stating...'Buy now, or Else'

Really. There are so many rifles out there that eat 7.62X39 in this big, bad ol' world there's likely billions of rounds sitting in storage all over the planet.You don't seriously think there would be a shortage of 7.62x39?LOL

There more than likely are billions of rounds of 7.62x39 in storage around the world. That isn't the problem.
The problem comes from putting together the provenance for the import licence to get it into Canada.
John must pull out his hair on a regular basis when dealing with foreign and domestic bureaucracies. I hope at least in Canada, he is only dealing with the inflated egos of Liberal picked bureaucrats but in other countries, he is more than likely dealing with "Baksheesh" as well, not to mention out and out thievery.
70,000 sks rifles is a huge shipment. There are a lot of greedy eyes around the world that would like to get their hands on them, any way they can. By hook or by crook. I'm willing to bet the ship they will be loaded onto will be under constant surveillance as well as scrutiny by thieves and friends at all times. Security for this will be darned expensive. It will have to be on the rifles from point of purchase to the warehouse in Canada or wherever they're going.
This alone will raise the cost of the rifles substantially. Buying sks rifles from European governments will seem like a dream, compared to this nightmare situation. Even if the rifles were bought for $10 apiece, it will cost 5 times that much just for security. Then there is handling, shipping, warehousing and distribution charges, not to mention import taxes if any.
$120 sks rifles? Maybe, but doubtful IMHO.
So if I buy a crate, and chrome them like those Koreans... Who'd be interested?
(That's actually a rather serious question.)
i doubt that more than 5000 will be released to the canadian market,
GOMMEE;
"Can you tell us how the MAGS will be pinned?" TO MEET CANADIAN STANDARDS....
Are you bringing in more ammo?" IN WHAT FLAVOR ??
John
BEARHUNTER;
NO PURCHASES ARE A DREAM, this I can garanty.... We were dealing behind the "iron curtain" for example, long before it came down....
For instance, Marstar was the first western company permitted to open an office in Bulgaria, BEFORE the revolution in 1991....
I was the first westerner permitted to visit military basis in that country to inspect and purchase military goods....
Remember that we have been operating in the former Yugoslavia since 1984, before the two wars, during the wars, after the wars.... We still have facilities there....
We have operated in many "interesting corners" of the world, that said one never gets used to the many twists any deal can take on in a hurry....
