Wolf/Antelope Rifle ... Success pics, post 126

7mm Rem ultra Mag that ought to put enough starch in it for you sub. 30 cal and smoking

I have a 7mm Rum. It definately smokes but I think it would be a bit too big or too fast for an antelope or wolf.

I wouldnt hesitate to knock down a long distance mulie with it though.

I'd go with someting in 6.5.

6.5-06 or if you want more custom, 6.5x300WSM or 6.5x300 winmag or 6.5x300 weatherby, or even 6.5 ultramag (if you want to shoot 110 grains of powder at once!). All done before and you can do some searching on the internet for the differences.

I'm also really interested in wildcat 6.5's myself...

I have a Remington CDL in 25-06 and a 700 Mountain in 257 Roberts ... both wear
Leupold 2-7 VX-II's in QR mounts ... and both shoot into 1/2" @ 100 with handloads.

Either would do want you want ... I'd also consider a Model 7 in 260 Remington.
A little shorter & lighter !

Go for the ruger no1 stainless laminate in 7mm you wont be disappointed it is easily one of the best rifles I have ever had the fortune of using. Accurate as all hell, light yet super stable, smooth action and really well balanced. Seen this take numerous antelope I took my first deer with it from nearly 200 yards standing freehand. I cannot say enough about this rifle.
