Let's make a concerted effort to get pics, shall we?

Here are the two WT bucks I got during the CFB Wainright hunt last year. These were the first deer I ever took with the muzzleloader.

Took this old timer at the end of the second day.

Rattled this guy in on the afternoon of the 3rd (last) day.

Pudelpointer,
Nice bucks there!
Nugget is heading up there this year. Will be interesting to see what he can hold out for. He generally doesn't last too long.:p

Are you saying he usually blows his load too quickly? :p:p:p

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Is he hunting the special weapons season or one of the rifle seasons? Has he gone before? A couple of CGN'ers gave me some advice on where to go, and I thought a different area looked good so we went there first: BIG mistake.

Ended up where they said was better by the first afternoon and saw way more / bigger bucks including a monstrous WT and a damn fine non-typ MD buck. Just could not make it work.

If he is interested in some directions let me know and I will PM.

Very nice, congrats!

BTW, what cal is the ML and at what range did you take those bucks?

The rifle is a .50 T/C Renegade that my hunting partner loaned me. I had every intention of hunting with my grandfathers rifle but had some last minute issues with it.

Both bucks were shot with pure lead maxi's that my friend cast, IIRC they were 400 +- grains loaded over 90 grains of FFG.

The first buck was taken at 80 yards just before dark while he was tending 8 does. I had stalked in on the does (I was going to take one at that point) when the old guy stepped out into the open. I tried to grunt him closer, but he was focused on staying close to his ladies. When I pulled the trigger it just went "CLACK". The hammer had stopped at half-####! That buck was seriously focused on me then. I eased the hammer back again (boy that sure is loud when you know a buck is listening intently) and hit him through the lungs.

The second buck I rattled in during a wind storm to about 25 yards. He only ran about 75 yards.

The one and only deer I had hand in. Im on the left. Pushed it out to the other guy, and ended up putting the kill shot into it. Gutted it as well, if that isnt obvious.

Kinda funny, I got off work at noon, and rushed into camp to get their before the guys went out for the afternoon. I figured, "I can wear my new jeans, what are the chances im gonna have to gut a deer?"

Well, luckily the blood stains came out
