My magpul orders from brownells got put on hold

I was under the impression that orders under 100 were gtg w/o export/import papers?

I have 2 moe grips and 2 moe stocks, and couple of non magpul peel washers in the same order. it totals 134. If I break it up into 2 orders is that gtg?

*UPDATE*
This is just to update all, that one of my orders came thru, and I fully expect the other to as well. for an 86USD order, I payed 15cdn customs at the post office. And that was for an MOE stock, grip, and a 5 pack of washers... Plus the shipping, not so sure if that is exactly a great deal...but...for the experience.

I did contact and waiting out. I had contacted Wolverine re alternative supply to this, and they said that no telescoping stocks are being exported right now. tabernac.
 
Try ordering just the MOE stock, and one MOE grip per order. It equals 80$.
i ordered this a couple weeks ago, and they were in my PO box within 4-5 days. :D

still ended up being 120$ once it came off my card. Then there was the 20$ customs fees......

Is this only due to the express shipping, or does this fee get charged each time?

You are correct. Orders under US$100 are good to go, if the items are not specifically controlled. $134 > $100.
Send two separate under US$100 orders.
Brownells won't split the order, you have to.
 
I tried to get the troy modular vertical grip , it was 80 $ but they canceled the order quoting export restrictions. I dont know how the hell a vertical grip is verboten, but they also canceled a previous order of ranger plates for my pmags. (that one I can slightly understand as they are parts for magazines.

Were they not registered with the department of state? I have had a few items cancelled due to this.
 
After speaking to the people at Brownells, it is not the order that has to be less the $100 it is total amount of firearms parts. If you try to pull a fast one and make two separate orders, totaling over $100 worth of gun parts in each and both orders are placed in close proximity to each other, the may catch you.

Also if a manufacturer isn't registered as an exporter with the state department you will be unable to get the item (example: Falcon ind.- Bolt on rails for MOE hand guards).
 
CBSA collects taxes owing, plus a fee for processing the package. The processing fee will be $8 or $5, depending on whether the order was travelling priority or not - they charge more for for clearing a priority order.
Brownells will charge for USPS Priority air shipping, plus an export fee for preparing the SED paperwork.
Some US manufacturers are not registered with the US DOS for export. If they are not registered, Brownells cannot export any of their products. If you ask Brownells export department, they will email you the current list of registered manufacturers. Many of the goods in Brownells catalogue are exportable, many are not, because of this.
If you want to place a higher value order, or order controlled goods, subject to an export permit, Brownells will work with you. Many other US businesses will not.
I place "split" orders back to back. I use a fax, and give the orders separate PO numbers. I run the value of gun parts as close to the limit as I can, then add any other items I need.
 
I just put in a split order back to back via the online ordering....will see what they say.
First and second order are identical moe stock and grip, just in diff colours.

Will see what they say this time. ARGH I shake my fist in ITAR's general direction.
 
split orders work- I have done it before. Also the total doesnt seem to be $100 as Ive had stuff ship over $200 before- it depends on what the parts are, maybe they use the wholesale cost, also I dont think they factor in shipping charges into the total. I have some AR tools that shipped yesterday. Brownells is great.
 
Well sandy just said that as long as these items are unregulated and under 100 per invoice, they should go through......BAH...STRESS....
 
isnt the 100 dollar restriction only on firearm parts? im under the understanding that tools and chemicals are not regulated under that, only firearm parts. not sure if it still applys if they are "airsoft" parts..

Only gun parts.
Tools are OK.
Chemicals may be out of the question - there are shipping restrictions on many liquids, corrosive solids, etc. Some things are OK.

It says they require a original or certified copy of import cert/permit

A written PO on your letterhead stationary, incl foreign party end-user name and complete address

End User Statment

a DSP83 End-User Cert

and then an IIC from DFAIT.
I'm new to import/export of this sort of matter, and it is a bit intimidating. I have no Idea what letterhead they require or what an end-user is...etc.

True.....BUT...... if the supplying company is not registered as an exporter with the DOS the order will not be processed. I had three D-fender o-rings (~$20) pulled from my last Brownells order for that reason. I was, however, promptly notified of this matter and the remainder of the order was sent without issue.

IIC can be requested from the ministry of Foreign Affair (Takes about 5-10 days)

The you'll need to send this to Brownells along with your purchase order (Microsoft Excel as a bunch of free template). I usually include my "end-user statement" at the bottom of the PO.

Signed DSP83 are usually not required... unless you order a barrel or something similar...
