He isn't trying to do any such thing.

The guy is considered by many to be THE best rifle builder in the world.
 
Ok....awesome. I have to show this to my wife so that she can understand that the insane amount of money I've spent on rifles and pistols over the years can actually get worse. With this information I may be able to convince the wife that the M-200 408 Chey-Tac is a bargain.....:).
 
If I had the money this is the route I would go at about $15,000 per in 7MM Rem Mag and .375 H&H.

That's exactly what I was thinking. That and the buttpad of the top one is ugly and you can't even see the butt of the bottom one.

How are these $15K per:rolleyes:, much less $50 K:eek:. At even a generous estimate, I get $4400 per. Seriosuly, what makes 'em so special to warrant another $10,600 ?

McM Echolls stock - $600
M70 Action, trued and blueprinted $1500 (max)
Custom chambered barrel - $700
bottom metal - $300
Jewel (?) trigger - $300
custom rings/bases (or are they?)- $500
Gunsmithing - $500

According to Manta they don't make a ton of money selling these guns.

It is actually quite simple. If they were $4400 their would be a 15 year wait for them. So they are 15K and you wait 2.

Hmmm....M98 in anything from short to magnum length, up to .505 Gibbs for a little less than 1/2 the price. Or a dressed Winchester M70. Tough choice. Mind you the this rifle has exhibition grade wood (~$3800), extra engraving, colour case hardening (~$1600) and some other options, so it would probably be 3/4 of the price (Westley Richards and Co.):

So those are estimates. They mean nothing. These are "club" rifles for people who make a lot of money and want the very best in craftsmanship. The materials for a GM and a Ferrari cost pretty much the same but the difference is in how they are put together.

If you can afford it..go for it if it floats your boat.
