New Sightron SIII 10X50-60mm scope and Others for 2010

Sightron has been busy with their overwhelming success in their SIII LR lineup.

They are now offering more reticles options in the super popular 8x32 (dot, target dot, FCH and mildot) and introducing a super high mag variable target scope.

Just announced, the new 10X50-60 target scope will be here for early 2010 at 1/3 the cost of the the nearest competition. Lots of elevation for such a high mag scope, reticles suited to target/competition shooting and 1/8min clicks which we have been bugging them for all year.

If the optics are of the same amazing quality as the other SIII scopes, this will be a game changing product.

For those looking for MASSIVE amounts of elevation adjustment, they now have 3 fixed mag scopes to fill the bill.

Fixed 10, 16 and 20X with a multipoint mildot reticle, these scopes have 150mins of UP. Still a small, light and compact scope, it will work well on a huge range of rifles.

If the goal is to push a 308 or 223 to a mile without goofy 100yd zeros, this is the scope for you. I can't think of another scope with this much elevation.

All SIII scopes are 30mm tubes. The 10X50-60 is rated at 50mins.

Yes, those fixed 20X will really help you reach out, waaaayyyy out.

We will have to start looking at 60MAO bases

Sightron lists ETA as ....."SOON". Supposed to be onroute if not already incountry BUT.......Until there are boxes at my dist, I can't confirm timing.

I know they want to get their 2010 line ready for the SHOT announcements. They got caught BAD last year when they grossly underestimated the demand for the SIII scopes. Took them months to catch up.

I would hope they will have more inventory available.

All I can suggest is to place a order and wait.

Every SIII scope I have looked at had a one piece tube and this is how the 10X50 scope is described as well. however, the clicks are 1/8min.

They really should edit their info pages better...

What calibers will these stand up to?

I'm short scopes for a 260 Remington and a 338 Lapua.

Lapua I'm not optimistic about......

There are no restrictions from Sightron and I have not heard any negatives on big boomers or braked rifles breaking this scope.

So far, I can't see any conventional option being a problem

The 6X24 has 100 moa of elevation. Looks interesting for my 260. But I got 1" rings for the thing................

The rings would have come with ZERO and a pair of 10 thou shims. So you can go from neutral to 20mins (or thereabouts) of shim.

One of the local shooters has been using the 6x24Mildot scope for about 8 months with excellent tracking. Plenty of elevation to get beyond a mile.

I have one of the fixed 20X with 150mins on order. I think I will push my 10/22 to 500yds and see what happens. Or my 7RM over 2500yds.....
