We are looking to do a custom run of Savage rifles in 308 with 18.5" barrels.

Which is of more interest:

Stevens 200 w/"Tenifer" finish ~$399
Savage 11FCNS with detach mag and accutrigger w/"Tenifer" finish ~$599

These will be completely factory guns.

Any other suggestions for options are welcome

Put me down for the Stevens 200. FYI I need it before deer season.
The Savage although I'd like it, is likely out of my price range,
but don't count me out if you choose them over the stevens.

What's a Tenifer finish?

I'm all excited now.
I'll vote for iron sights too, probably won't use them, but they don't hurt to have.

We can make them any length, but 18.5" seems like the best given the cartridge.

I think will will do they as the scout rifle with the Williams sight. It does affect traditional scope mounting, however.

Wow, I'm actually in the market for a new bush rifle, as all of my deer have been harvested at less than 100 yards. The Stevens 200 would be great! Can you have them specially made with a hinged floor plate instead of a blind mag by any chance? I doubt it, but cant hurt to ask :)

16" would work for me too. I just get tired of lugging around a long rifle to shoot game within spitting distance.

Basically, as short as I can go and still have decent ballistics out to 200 yrds.

I already have 3 .30 caliber rifles you evil, evil man ;)

If the Stevens has the Williams sight and is drilled for a forward mounted, long eye relief scope, count me in.
