Petite female friend looking to buy a pistol...now with pic of size

I was in the same boat, until today.. my girlfriend has very small hands, though our combined budget was larger..

For under $700, the S&W M&P9 JG.

For under $1000, the CZ Shadow, though reaching the trigger in double-action might be a problem.. if that's the case..

For under $1300, and what we ended up getting, the Tanfoglio Match in 9mm. It's a single action, and had the same grip style as the CZ Shadow, which my gf liked a lot.

Really if her hands are super petite have her try several 22's and compare them to 9mm's, she may be much better off with a 22 that fits right than a 9 that doesn't. unfortunately most of what she needs is in the prohib category. 22 in the right hand is much better than 9 in the wrong hand.

if you can find a single stack 1911 in 9mm. it might be alright.

I have small hands and a single stack 1911 in .45 auto is a great fit.

I have girlishly small hands and I can't hold a 1911 properly. I can't actuate the mag release with out changing my grip. If I don't change my grip the most I can accomplish is just being able to touch the button.

I have tried a CZ-Shadow and it felt like it was made for my hands. I fell in love with it right away. Unfortunatly it is out of your friends $700 price range and they usually sell for $900 new.

she's shot the 22 handguns. she prefers to shoot 9mm. I recommended to her the Sr9 and the MP9. There's not a whole lot of choices on the island to look at guns. WSS Nanaimo. Has it, and will price match with any dealer...

nza, then I think her choices are really limited to the good suggestions being made here on the thread.

M&P 9 for sure. Just install the small backstrap and you're good to go ! Fairly cheap, dead reliable, looks awesome, easy take-down and it shoots great.:D

Another vote for the SR9.
And I say this as a smaller fellow (5'5") with smaller hands.
The SR9 fits like it was made for me and though it's a lighter weight gun in 9mm the recoil is a non-issue for me.

S&w m&p 9

My wife has been looking and trying every hand gun she could get her hands around, price was not a worry. She finally settled on the M&P with the small grip installed. She loves it! I would say that one fits all your requirements, but like everything else, she will have to try it.

I am 5'2" and I have a S&W M&P 9mm - works well for me.

I have shot Browning Hi-Power, Sig 225 and 226, Beretta 40cal, S&W Model 10, HK P7 and a few others - the M&P fits my hand the best with the adjustable grips.
