Petite female friend looking to buy a pistol...now with pic of size

I've seen a few posts about people's height,
and hands that are 'large'.
But not a single hand measurement.
Is that not important?
How about this?

Interesting. I have an 8 3/8" hand and a 4 5/8" palm. No wonder I am comfortable with the large frame glocks.

Update, I'm proxying a transfer for an SW MP9 bought from EE, thanks to a CGN mbr
When I say tiny, I meant tiny

i have girl hands for a man lol, no comments pleae, but i made my 1911 fit to my hand when I sanded some old wodden grips dow, and there is allways the norc coupy of the T33 and its 9mm copy of the same.

HK P30-L with the smallest of 3 grip inserts. She can use her finger to press the mag release. OR CZ Shadow with the smallest aluminum grip panels.

First off, what the heck are you doing with my wife?

Kidding...

But I'll have to find someone in the area that will let my wife try the M&P9 because she's having trouble finding something that's comfortable in her small hands too. But there's no rush yet because she enjoys the Ruger Mk III, probably more because of the lack of recoil than the grip size (which is still big for her).

A couple posters here suggested the Norinco version of the Tokarev, and my wife can't get her hand around the grip at all, to the point where her shooting it might be dangerous. This is the wrap-around grip version though, so the original TT33 Norcs might be better.

We have similar size differences. She's in yellow, and I'm behind her. Like yourself, I'm also 5'10" :D

Walther P99.

yup my wife has small hands she has fired 1911's i owned a couple sr9's for awhile, glocks, sigs she has tried just about all of them

she owns 3 walther p99's one in .40 and two in 9mm. she found the ergonomics and fit the best with the p99 series of pistols she absolutly loves them (other than the .40 she finds it a bit too snappy)

that said the biggest issue for her looking for a pistol was grip size and location of the controls (safety, decocker and slide release)

she now interested in a 45acp and i think the sig 220 will be the best fit for her

The M&P in 45 actually has the same size grip +/- 1/8th inch as the M&P9 - it's much smaller than a Sig P220

i have very long fingers don't seem to have a problem with most handguns. What's the deal with all the white guys and asian girls i don't get it !?

I have a medium sized hand and I really like the feel of the CZ which I think I'm going to get this spring. On that note, our best friends consist of a Chinese guy whose married to a white girl. She's a real light blond and is blue-eyed too. I bet that really gets your blood boiling! :D

It's all about the size? lol

I'm a bit surprised to see such concern and stereotyping about races and interracial relationships here in Canada. We spent some time in the bible belt of the American south (Jax FL), and frankly moved back here many years ago to get away from such mentality. I guess the good thing is that we feared for our lives there because of a couple incidents due to our mixed races, and that was what got us introduced to handguns to begin with.

You don't have to justify or defend why you married whom 20 years ago, why should I?

Frankly I think you're both out of line and need to get out shooting more at the range and stop worrying about other people.

Edit: You're also confirming a negative stereotype that some people have toward gun owners, hunters, and sport shooters. Many folk already have some suspicion that we are a bunch of racist redneck wackos because of the way media portray us sometimes. This is not who we are as a group here IMO. There's just a few bad eggs that need to be straightened out. Unfortunately, those bad eggs stand out the most predominantly.

May I suggest a Norinco M213?
Very slender grip and inexpensive to buy. I proactively invested a whopping 15 minutes into polishing the feedramp and it DOES NOT jam EVER and accuracy is very decent.
It is a fun little gun. Don't let the $150-180 price range on the EE make you think it is cheap and unreliable.
