Bushnell had to do this to me...

Glad you had good luck! My experiance is the complete opposite..nothing but a runaround with no satisfaction from the CEO on down to the service dept. That's my last Bushnell produce ever.......

i've been dealing with bushnell on both retail and wholesale levels( geodesic firm) for years- since 71 and the only criticism is their SLOW service- they've REPLACED every scope i've sent in over the years, but i've only dealt with the RICHMOND HILL repair depot, which is mentioned on the site , i beleive, in the INTERNATIONAL page- that's EVERYTHING from the sportview up to the scopechief

It is interesting that last year I sent an email question to their tech department in Markham and go a response back the same day!!!

Hopefully that same type of service will start to become the norm with their warranty repairs.

Was your last Bushnell product that 25 year old Scopechief? FS

Bushnell experience

My Bushy red-dot was giving me issues with the led-intensity dial/battery...it felt so loose, as if it was going to fall off. I was visiting a friend in Richmond Hill and knew their repair center was in the area and decided to drop it off for repairs, fully expecting to pay for repairs and shipping to my home. I mentioned, for some reason, that I wasn't from the area (about a 5 hr. drive away) to the receptionist and she told me to wait a moment. She returned a few moments later and told me she spoke to a Technician and he said to come back in about an hour. When I returned, the red-dot was fixed, as a good as new....no charge. I've had this red-dot for about 8 years and have been using it ever since on a Remington .308 760 carbine....with absolutely no issues....:D
Just thought I would chime in with my very pleasant but unexpected experience with Bushnell.....
BTW....I returned to Busnell about 20 min. later with an extra large Timmy's for the Tech and a dozen doughnuts for anyone who cared to eat them

I sent a scope to the warrenty dept. 4 weeks ago, so am hoping to hear from them soon.
They did answer an email within hours though...

Other side note -- for the small investment in a decent boresighting device (I gave $20 on eBay for mine), you can diagnose scope (or mount) problems with ease. Simply put the boresighter in as if you were about to sight in the rifle -- look through the scope, and tap the scope and/or mounts with a small rubber mallet. If the crosshairs don't move, you're solid. Then crank the adjustments through their paces while looking through the scope, and watch for tracking issues.

That $20 boresighter has saved me a pile of money and time over the years (including giving me the instant heads-up (and later my money back) when I was sold a broken scope on eBay). I highly recommend everyone get one.

Well I never thought of that, despite my curiosity on trackign of a couple scopes, you jiust got me to take the plunge on a boresighter (I usually pull the bolt and sight through the bore myself to get on paper).

Thanks!

Oh, and on topic, great to hear about good customer service from bushnell.

You want to hear about great customer service.
Ask me!
It's been well over 7 months now and still haven't received it back yet. 2 month's ago I phoned and of course no one ever pic's up the phone at the repair lab but I managed to get hold of the secretary and she said "Oh, nothing has happened because you broke your image erector and it will cost $450 for us to replace your scope." Since it's a yardage pro and I spent over a $1000 dollars on the thing, what was I supposed to do. It took them 2 months to acknowledge that they even received the scope even though I sent it Xpresspost and had it there in 3 day's. Needless to say I will no longer buy a bushnell product because of this. I don't believe I had to ask what is going on and have to follow up just to figure out that I have to pay and still I have to wait. Sorry I used to love bushnell but they have really gone downhill lately. Better off getting a Vortex or saving up for a Leuplod.

It is really no win - the stupid scope should be operational the first place when it comes out of the box.

I agree, when I went shopping for my first decent scope The guy handed me two, one was Bushnell 6500, another one was a VXIII. The zoom on the VXIII wouldn't budge, either of us could turn it. The sales guy said "at least they have a great warranty!" I went home with the Bushnell, it actually worked.
Unfortunately that's all I think about when I hear the name Leupold.

I've sent several BUshnell products back for warranty work, and they usually just replace it. The real problem is that
a) it failed in the first place and was pretty new
b) It always takes months, whereas Leupold service takes a week or maybe 10 days.

Leica takes a couple of weeks...NOBODY takes as long as Bushnell...

I'm glad you had good service from Bushnell as for myself nothing but bullsh*t from them..Never again will I buy another Bushnell product of any kind I've learned my lesson !

I have had 0 issues with all my bushnell scopes Hell I lost the filter for my 1X 30 trophy while hunting last year my fault. When I called about buying a replacement they just sent me another free in the mail it only took 10 days, not bad.

I have had the same experiences, a pile of times in total(between mine and close friends). Your last sentence sums it up for me as well...

I did buy a Bushnell trail cam last season(long after I was swore off of Bushnell) and have had good luck so far. I cant believe someone actually talked me into it

That's not true. Look around the precision forum for posts about IOR. :D

I figured i would bump this thread rather than start a new one.

[rant]I bought a Bushnell Elite 1500 with ARC LRF a year and a half ago. It screwed up about 8 months ago. It would not range anything over 300 yards. I sent it into Bushnell and finaly got it back yesterday. All they did was send me a quote back stating what work needs to be done and how much it will cost:eek:. They want 250 bucks to fix it. They say it is a discontinued model and there are no more parts in stock for it. So I now have a 600 dollar piece of $hit. I am going to phone them next week and chew them out to see what happens. [/rant]

I bought a Swarovski last year also so I am not stuck without a LRF. The Swaro is 10 times the LRF the Bushnell was to start out with anyway. I have also been buying Leupold scopes lately and I think this warranty incident has just sealed the deal for Leupold as I have had other Bushnell products fail in the past. I now vow to never buy another Bushnell product. Years ago when Bushnell was way cheaper it was worth it to buy them over Leupold. Now for an extra 200 bucks you can upgrade from a 4200 to a VX-3 and the 6500 line is almost the same price as VX-3. If you ask me Bushnell's over priced $hit is going to push allot more people towards Leupold.

That is some sweet art work right there!

Yes, I have owned a number of Bushnell scopes over the years, but my area is gradually becoming a Busnell-free area as well. They have replaced 2 or 3 scopes and repaired a couple, but every time, I grow older just waiting for the job to get done. One took 7 months, another 4½. If someone else has had great luck with them....they can fly at 'er. I'm done. Eagleye.

Friends don't let friends shoot bushnells. When I was using them I ignored the warnings from friends that I was cruisin' for a bruisin. Most were pretty good about it, and just said "you'll learn".
