Your right, I didn't look close enoughI was too distracted by the sawed off barrel
BTW the 85 Classics do have the old style checkering & the old style profile.

instead of that hideous Eurotrash pattern.
The Walnut stocked version of the Hunter appears to also have gone back to a checkering pattern worthy of the rest of the rifle, instead of that hideous Eurotrash pattern.

Hey! Some of us like that Euro Trash pattern ya know!
That's the advantage of a rifle/cartridge combo like that. It works very well as a bush gun, but still has it for longer shots. It would handle very well to boot.
Think 160s or 175s for moose hunting or 120s or 140s for longer ranges. It would be a very nice compromise either way. Other than the sights, it's not that much different than a 20" Model Seven.
.
Depends on where you live and how you hunt.I have the same issue with the model 7. I think the 700 mountain rifle is a dramatically superior setup.

Looks good to me!
Looks good to me too, but may I ask why the scope is 90deg to the left? Is it to improve access to the action?
I have been playing with it,..not sighted in yet...
I have been trying loading it fast with gloves on and off,.. I tried rolling it to see if it made a difference...
You CANNOT make this stuff up. Priceless.
Not enough room for two Ego's in the other thread?
Some people play with their guns scopes and rifles...other patrol the forums ensuring the world is aware they are watching..
run along now,.. I'm sure there's a pair of Hanwags that need thier picture taken..![]()
Don't feel too bad. I made the same mistake.....................on all my rifles. It's why I'm so faaast.
