The Sako (with pics) FINISHED...DONE...

That set up with the 7mm-08 will make a great bush rifle.
Just because rifle bullets with travel 2 or 3 miles doesn't mean
we should be hunting at those distances. Besides, stalking is challenging
and good exercise.

The Walnut stocked version of the Hunter appears to also have gone back to a checkering pattern worthy of the rest of the rifle, instead of that hideous Eurotrash pattern.

I seen that also, now if they can ditch the plastic & go back to a true fiberglass, they will have an excellent trio to choose from.

Oh the Kodiak & Safari are  enough already :p

That's the advantage of a rifle/cartridge combo like that. It works very well as a bush gun, but still has it for longer shots. It would handle very well to boot.

Think 160s or 175s for moose hunting or 120s or 140s for longer ranges. It would be a very nice compromise either way. Other than the sights, it's not that much different than a 20" Model Seven.

.

I have the same issue with the model 7. I think the 700 mountain rifle is a dramatically superior setup.

Depends on where you live and how you hunt.

.

dead on...

This particular rifle wasn't a gift, or a steal of a buy so I grabbed it, or passed down to me,...

I selected it. :)

I was looking at about 5 different rifles at the time...

It suits me and my style of my hunting and that's what matters...

Some love it, some hate it, ...

That's most of what I like about hunting rifles,...variety amongst the shooters... Not everyone wants to be shooting a 26 inch stainless Remington, Not everyone wants to be shooting a short quarter rib battue,..

and that's great... when we meet in the bush or wherever we can have a bit of interest in each others different guns and have a play date :D

Well after much debate, and such...the rifle is scoped..

Not enough room for two Ego's in the other thread?
Some people play with their guns scopes and rifles...other patrol the forums ensuring the world is aware they are watching..

run along now,.. I'm sure there's a pair of Hanwags that need thier picture taken.. ;)

Don't feel too bad. I made the same mistake.....................on all my rifles. It's why I'm so faaast.
